Wasn't one of BL 1's DLC (can't remember name, when you fight in arena) that each round takes anywhere from 30-over 60 minutes? I remmeber trying to get achievements and after getting first, placed game on 'play later' list.

Oh you're not wrong. The cut scenes tell a GREAT story.

They just seem a little too frequent and long.

I'm still pretty early in tbh.

And to be fair, Return to Castle Wolfenstien had cut scenes also (not as many or as long) and that is 100% one of my favorite games from that era. It's like WWII FPS meets FPS Horror. Perfect!

In Oblivion, tried that 8x Anti Alais thing
which turned of HDR ( & put Bloom ON)

Then Screen Grabbing Stopped

Now Level 20 and have Daedric Armour + Blade

But enemies just get better

Combat School on the ZX Spectrum, very good game but questionable score system.

Am I the only one playing Blackout?

Theres days when I love it, and days when I hate it.

Killing enemies sometimes can be so frustratingly inconsistent.

Sturmwind EX

A brilliant shmup. You might know this game from its dreamcast release back in 2013. Two days ago it was released on steam.

For a couple of month I play 'Shanghai' again, this solo-Mahjong-thing by Activision(1986).
After work it calms me down a lot.
No time limit... Ahhhh... Great relief.

Cheers,
Rick

Between two games for the EAB competition, I still have fun playing Worthy (Pixelglass - 2018).

Playing BattlematchCampaign, probably somewhere half way through and almost done with all upgrades to ship and have bunch of extra Mechs that for some reason I am not selling yet...

Just love how this strategy game works, nice story line, but repeating game play due to only 3-4 kind of missions.

Haven't had much time for games in months (or years ) but a while back restored my old Atari 800XL. I spent a bit of time playing Blue Max again and remembering how much I loved it as a kid, and now I wanna make a slightly updated version for the Amiga but have no time...

So from a couple of years break gaming I've recently fired up MAME.

Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja
Shadow Dancer

Jeez I love these two... not sure what it is but they are so addictive.

Skyrim is getting tedious:

Installed Broken Sword 3 (The Sleeping Dragon)
could not get use to the controls...

Also Installed Dishonored + Crysis ---
tried Quake 4 but the disc had a bad (pak005.pk4) file.

I don't think I've posted on this thread before, but as of a week or so ago, I've just thrown away all of my games on Atari 8-Bit, Amiga and PC (even had them removed from my Steam account).

As the retro games were all downloads from AtariMania and Abime Retroplay, I don't think there's any loss at all, but as for Steam, these were all FPS games that I'd completed years before and tried to revisit but just wasn't interested in completing once again. The only exception, which I completed recently, was Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil, which I bought back in 2004 but I never got around to completing until this year, despite being totally obsessed with id Tech 4's graphical glory, compared to what I consider lesser shooters like Half-Life 2 (man, that was overrated!).

So now I have no computer games at all, although I still have access to Retroplay, but I think I'm more likely to just listen to the game soundtracks on Amiga games than play them.

As for PC gaming, I have considered Doom Eternal, but that would require an upgrade to my PC which I don't feel like investing in. Otherwise, PC FPS games don't appeal to me any more, with the baffling use of open world maps and microtransactions as standard. At my age, can you blame me if I don't want to game anymore?

Maybe consider a game which is not an FPS? I recently bought the previous Doom game (the one that is just called DOOM) and pfff. Pardon my French: I just can't be arsed anymore. It's pretty, it's fast, it's slick, it's lifeless.

Of course it's pretty, it's an id Tech engine! I've been following those for years since Doom 1993 blew me away on a friend's PC, and I just admire the technical aspects of the engines more than the gameplay. It's just a shame that id Tech 6 requires so much GPU power and memory AND SDD space. I think that id Tech 4 still looks great to this day!

I also happen to love demos mainly because of the fancy 3D routines, smooth effects and shiny surfaces and pretty colours. I'm almost like a magpie in that sense!

However, I do like certain types of gameplay: a game I played endless hours on on PC that wasn't an FPS was Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 - I LOVED that game! I would buy it now if it was on Steam, but since it's not, and I doubt it would run on modern PCs these days anyway, that's another one I have to consider gone forever.

Yep, like Borderlands...

BTW, if you like strategy games, but don't care about MOO or Civ games, try Intestellar or Battletech.

Or game that gimbal played last night - terraria... hours of fun with that one.

Starbound also was lots of fun.

My kids enjoy Stardew Valley.

I like Borderlands for the story and the humor, that makes it better than the average FPS even though gameplay-wise the Borderlands games have never really been top of the line.

Yeah Terraria is my go-to game when I am really bored with everything that goes pew pew pew I'm eagerly awaiting a massive content-doubling final update that is incredibly close to dropping.
