Reviews and adverts are in the misc shots section, so there should be quite some adverts, but not many reviews yet.

See here for example: http://hol.abime.net/875/miscshot

Perhaps you are.
I wager NOBODY will ever, or you would have to hack the emulator

The game stops loading on track 80. That is because it has a copy protection, and you must copy this game with a tool that can handle this copy protection, thus use an extended adf.
Please try Toni's rawread.
If you are stuck with the options, I can help you. Important: Specify track 83 as end track.

And if possible, please dump this rare original for CAPS (aka SPS), too. Thanks.
(You must have an 68020+ Amiga, though.)

Fortress underground protection

Thanks for your tip!

I dumped all my (unprotected) Disks with Disk2FDI. Rescued lots of 5.25
and 3.5" Disks .Is there no way to dump tracks >79 with disk2fdi?
What about this FDI thing .(I ever use the disk2fdi b: /s command, generates an ADF)

Can i dump protected disks with the catweasel controller?
If i can i will buy one.

Have no 68020 machine.But A500

I have absolutely no clue with Disk2FDI.

Apparently a part of them, but don't beat me to it ...

Well, this rawread thing works on a real Amiga. This means your A500 must have a decent amount of RAM. *Possibly* you can do image chunks, i. e. the first half with tracks 0-41 and the second with tracks 42-83. But I cannot guarantee that the disk parts will work afterwards after they are joined together again eventually.

regarding: http://hol.abime.net/4215

Kai Torsberg is the known Dj: "Restore" (atleast here in norway he's pretty known)

its abit hard to say what is what but this is what was planned for the Full release anyway:

The Game is HD installable (only hd)
The game was supposed to have been a 1 CD release.
The game had 2 player simulatniously support (discarded in the demo/preview for various reasons)
The liscense was commercial but was put to rest when we abandoned the project.
Hardware is AGA/RTG , the game works on classic ECS with 020-> (and rtg).
gametype is shoot em up / racing.

Checked out Toni´s rawread.WOW ! Incredible fast on standard adfs!!!
Dumped Fortress Underground with the following command:
rawread -f hd0:fortress -e 82 -r. (on a A600 HD)
But still no success in WINUAE.If you feel boring, you can take a look at
it.Upped that eADF to the ZONE!.Looks like this is a heavy protected nut!BÄH!

Thanks a lot ... will check.

[edit] You are right -- this is a BEAST. Some info obviously got lost with the simple usage.
Could you please do another attempt with

Code:
rawread -f hd0:fortress -e 82 -r -x -1
Thanks in advance! This might produce a true original.
Even if this fails, it will contain EVERY information needed to create a working 100% original extended adf, usually with virgin hi-score list lacking all those nonsensical cracker messages.

Well I've just talked to Toni, and he confirmed that with this tool, the disk cannot be dumped. He says the disk might be too old that a working image cannot be produced that way.
Or it's your (older) drive, which can maybe read this kind of images good enough for playing purposes, but is not anymore able to do a steady dump (e. g. compare broken RAM which produces differences in CRC with one and the same file to working RAM which always shows same CRC for the file in RAM).

Only way out shall be WARPing it. (WWarp, or one of the tools "provided" on WHDload page)

Speaking of WHDload: If you move to that page, you may wonder why you search and search and do not find the link to the warping tools. In fact, you will have to scroll down to the lower third of the MAIN page, and hidden inside a more or less tiny link, amidst all that text...
Quote:
Please note that it is usually not required that you ship your disks or cd's, because nearly all can be done via email. Check here for more infos concerning creating and sending images to install authors (thanks to Codetapper for writing this text).
...there is the warping tools you were searching for. Why this hasn't been integrated into the main menu on top yet, escapes me (maybe "Contribute!" or so). But I do know that I have definitely asked the "responsibles" already back in 2002 to make the navigation a bit more logical, that is, to put the important things on top (and warpers ARE important!); unfortunately nothing has happened yet.

Hi Cody!

I have just noticed this thread. I think you'll be interested in this: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=20040

I'd be more than happy to upload anything I have for you, as the HOL is a very worth while project

I was wondering if you are after the scans as is, or are you looking for the scans to have any rips, tares, etc. airbrushed out?

If you can be bothered airbrushing any mistakes out and it isn't obvious to the naked eye that they have been altered, feel free to. However, if you want to upload scans with damage we will happily accept them. A bad scan is better than no scan imho!

I found that little 10 page 'beneath a steel sky' comic book that came with certain magazines.

I don't have a scanner but I can put it in an envelope and snail mail it..
Cody?
