Im not 100% sure i have yet.. lets see how you guys get on. Now i'm gonna look at SPI .. and i've started a new board.
Does anyone know how to load scsi.device into ram besides using CPU FASTROM? Last edited by plasmab; 25 October 2018 at 18:05. |

Does this mean we can have 4+8 MB of fast RAM with the TF534 and the kipper2k cards on an A2000 for instance?

Yes. But the kipper ram still runs at 7Mhz so it’s v slow EDIT: I mean its so slow you might be better setting up virtual memory and swapping to the CF card. Last edited by plasmab; 25 October 2018 at 19:06. |

Asking, cause Matzes RAM-IDE board has it's own oscillator (50Mhz/2) so RAM on it is @25Mhz speed... |

AIBB's memory latency index is a good start. On the start screen, click on You, then scroll through the various memory expansions to find out each Ram type's latency index. In fact, thanks to it, you can easily spot when Stephen adds or removes RAM waitstates in the firmware :-) |

So no matter how fast your ram is it will not go any faster than 4 clock cycles. EDIT: i cant see why you would have a 25Mhz OSC on a ram card for a 68000 socket. 25Mhz is a 80ns period so maybe it was for a refresh counter or something. An A500 cannot access ram that fast with a stock CPU so it would be pointless. Last edited by plasmab; 25 October 2018 at 19:48. |

Unfortunately sandwich with Matze's 8MB ram isn't working, TF534 just doesn't boot..
My A2k 4MB card is recognised, but if fails to work too - Systest shows error.. May we have more info please, or will there be a stream about Your next project soon? Last edited by 8 Bit Dreams; 25 October 2018 at 20:24. |

Edit: You can see at which address scsi.device is loaded in Sysinfo under the devices tab Last edited by kim_jorgensen; 25 October 2018 at 20:31. |

I cant really help without access to more cards. I have been using my A2000 with 13Mb of RAM all evening. Not one crash.

that would be a dream for all A2000 users, i swear.. You know, a simple but efficient half size Zorro board, with 64MB, or even 128MB on it.. Last edited by 8 Bit Dreams; 25 October 2018 at 22:31. |

Ok i have the spi + flashrom working. I hope to get SD card support working soon.
Its just occured to me that i dont have A7, A9 or A10 wired up to the CPLD. So i dont think a transparent rom replacement will work this time round unless someone can write a MAPROM bootstrapper in 128 bytes of code... |
