I'm picturing PCBs sitting in a pint of Tennents Super

Luvarim try cleaning the contacts with some IPA (not the beer). You'll be amazed at what gunk comes off. It might help with the connection.

I updated the github wiki list of tested working & non-working CF cards. I also ordered a couple more cards to test.

Long time no hear...

I've added the 'Verified CF' and the 'Faster Firmware Talk' pages to the Home Page on the wiki as they were missing and generally tidied up the look of the Home Page.

Hope that helps,

Shame a few people are greedy / opportunist and ruin it for others.

I am always reluctant to send goods without tracked postage.
When I do I will only take Paypal gift, I ensure the buyer knows they are taking a risk and get proof of postage from the Post Office that I have sent the item.

Why not sell them exclusively with tracked shipping?

It’s not as if people wouldn’t understand why.

Tracked shipping is more than the cost of the bare pcb

Man, people, arghh!
You should stick to the decent people from now on then, whatever you have left, they can nab it and build boards. And screw the unknowns who place claims and shit.

Little tale of buying RAM chips from China... I bought over 400 pieces, and so far most have been perfectly fine. On the odd occasion, you find a chip that doesn't work. Easily identified via software and replaced. So far I think I only had about 4 or 5 defective chips, so on the whole, not too bad.

There is another type of beast however. Some chips are missing the little notch indicating pin 1, it's just nowhere, not on top, nor the bottom. So I tried going by the text orientation. Mounted one of those, and the moment I powered up the board it went up in flames, no kidding. Literally a millisecond later.

I got a few of those chips left... I guess I am not going to try using them unless I want to start a whole other type of terrible fire...

You could roast some chestnuts over the open (terrible) fire. It'd be seasonal.
