Arrow New Patch For Desert Racing Released

Recently a new patch for Desert Racing has been put online.

The game should run faster now and we hope that different problems could be eliminated.

The 3rd patch for the demo of Desert Racing can be downloaded directly from the support page.

The patch for the full version is only available directly via email (because of personalization) from Andreas@apc-tcp.de .

I think the word *crawl* would aptly describe the way it works on classic Amigas (without this new patch).

on 060 i dont know now and dont support ppc. on a 1200/40 AGA there must have more as 4 fps with highest screenmode and details.

winuae must have 56-70 fps.

lol much as I am impressed with anyone who can and still does write games for the Amiga, it is a bit is sad that even once "Super Amigas" cant even run them. I was going to buy this game when I got my BPPC upgraded to an 060.

I think I will need some performance feedback first now....

PS Why no classic PPC support?

It finally runs good in 2x1x1 and 4x1x1 mode with details on. (PicassoIV, max 19 FPS)

But I had to disable the intro to get the executable to work.

I think it's irrelevant how quick it runs as it's one of the worst Amiga games ever written IMHO. (by the way I got 9-10 FPS on my 1200-040 with most of the detail turned off, though it's been a while since I've played it so my memory is a bit vague. The only reason I stuck with it was because I reviewed it for Total Amiga and gave it an absolute kicking.)

I read your review and it was quite entertaining

Anyway, I´ll play it now on my real miggy

Edit:

Yes, 060 / 50 mhz

The main problem of the old exe was that it didn´t write the gfx data right into the gfx card ram.

I have now tested on an A4000/060(50) Cybervision (using P96). The Aga exe is very slow, but the cybergfx is ok. About same fps as viddi. Intro works fine too.

Will try more tomorrow

Should I even bother testing this hungry game on my CD32/030(50)?
