Well I might as well add my books (Assuming they are all on my desk )

Amiga System Programmers Guide (Abacus)
Amiga Rom Kernal Ref Manual: Exec (Addison-Wesley)
Amiga Hardware Reference manual (Addison-Wesley)
Amiga Rom Kernal Ref Manual: Libraries & Devices (Addison-Wesley)
Amiga Rom Kernal Ref Manual: Libraries - Third Edition (Addison-Wesley)
Mastering Amiga Assembler (Paul Overaa - BSB books)
Amiga Disk Drives - Inside & Out (Abacus)
Amiga Tricks & Tips (Abacus)
Amiga Machine Language (Abacus)
Amiga C for Advanced Users (Abacus)

I also have a boxed copy of devpac 3 which has the handy little 68k command set

I'll assume these are useful.. what was the last published editions of the RKMs? is it the Third Editions? If So I'll try and get the others in 3rd edition.

Well, that's a nice little collection of books you have there bipster. I take it the RKM's are all third edition. The mastering amiga assembler book is a gud'un. That Paul Overaa knows his stuff. About your request for people to join you on an assembler quest. I'll learn along with ya as soon as I'm back on-line. Maybe it will be a month or two. Once we get good we might be able to knock up a cool little EAB game featuring everyones favourite characters. lol. I can see it now....

I haven't done much the pat week because I'm on difficult shifts at work which leave me shattered.. tho I'm gonna give it a good go at the weekend

I already have plans for a couple little games if I ever get competent and good enough

Amiga System Programmers Guide (Abacus)

Is this one available in .txt format like most of the other Abacus books?

Amiga books on line

This site which i found through another post on this board has a wee goldmine of amiga technical info plus 00s of links to other good stuff.
http://www.deadwoodinc.net/amigan/

Also the waybackmachine at http://www.archive.org/index.php
has a fair bit of amigarealm available, though frustratingly a lot of the files are missing, just when you find the very thing you're after, their bot has ceased to archive. Probably worth a look for other vanished amiga resources.

I've recently begun a slightly manic learn about the amiga frenzy and have aquired the following

Amiga Machine Language - Abacus, I'm starting here
Complete Amiga C - Clifframshaw, Amiga Shopper, and here
Inside Amiga Graphics - Sheldon Leemon
Mastering AmigaDOS3 tutorial&reference - Mark Smiddy
Mastering Amiga Assembler - Paul Overaa
68000, 10, 20 Primer - SAMS Kelly-Bootle&Fowler
Hardware Reference Manual 3rd
Amiga Tips&Tricks - Abacus - had this from years back

Plus 6 Issues of Amiga World tech journal from 91/92.
Plus electronic goodies from deadwoodinc and onwards

Why Am i doing it, i don't know but i can't stop

I'd aimto learn one programming language

C is the one if you plan on say intel or other development.. Asm only learn if you wanna do amiga asm..

As for the books

Amiga tips & tricks is a pretty useless book as alot of it is geared towards the now defunk amiga basic!

I programmed in C in the past and its kinda helpful for learning amiga specific stuff from a different angle and refreshing my memory about how to program. As for learning amiga assembler, it appeals to me in that slightly masochistic fun kind of way. I have no practical ambitions for it of any kind just sorta fascinated.

Perhaps someone could recommend a good asssembler package, are they freely available now?

As for that tips&tricks book, i really don't know where it came from as I've never used amiga basic.

following the thread of rare Amiga programming books manuals etc i have just drifted back into the Amiga scene after after buying and being given a few 1200s and a 500 and a 500+ and thought id like to try a bit of programming ive managed to collect quite a few (wont bore you with all the details)But i was given today a first addition (1989) Amiga LOGO Tutorial and Reference manual with software dveloped and written by Carl Sanssenrath in MINT condition and would like to know (1) is it a collectors item (only worth learnig the code from a retro perspective ) and (2) is it worth anything as i cannot find any details on the net about the code only about its author Thanks in advance

What's the Carl Sanssenrath code?? I hope it ain't LOGO. Damn turtle is more useless then BASIC me thinks. Mind you the turtle runs faster.

Commodore 1.3 RKM source code is on Fish Disk 337 I think(or disk 344), it's in C, I wonder if that code works 100% on a Amiga using a 800x600 Res monitor without a scan doubler.

Who is the author of the Abacus Amiga Machine Language book?
IMHO it is identical to the german Amiga Maschinensprache.(?)

If this http://purzelhorst.pu.funpic.de/AmigaAsm.PDF is the contend of the Abacus Amiga Machine Language book it is identical to the german Amiga Maschinensprache. In that case there is no difference. Of course one is in english and the other one in german.
