winuae64.exe (4.0.0 & 4.0.1)
There is something very strange happening here on my setup. With both latest final versions I always keep the naming of the exe intact (winuae64.exe in my case).
With the two latest final versions, 4.0.0 and 4.0.1 I noticed some garbage running through the (rtg, not native) screen from the top left to the bottom right. This did not happen with all the beta's, and I figured out now that this is not related to the version, but to the naming of the exe. I rename all beta's to winuae64_beta.exe and the issue is also not seen when I rename the final version to winuae64_v4.0.1.exe for instance... what?! Does anybody have a clue what is going on here...? |

Some virus scanner/security program doing something weird or GPU control panel has forced settings for those two program names?
What kind of garbage? (photo/screenshot if possible) |

Pictures added. The smaller black artifacts run along the screen from top left to bottom right really quickly. The "vertical broader artifacts" show on 2/3 of the bottom screen on various places. Top 1/3 of the screen not affected by these vertical items. The workaround (renaming) works quite ok, but can't remember seeing this with older versions. |

If you use Kaspersky you can setup the "trusted applications", which are the applications that Kaspersky DOESN'T control
I needed to do something like that to use ADF Workshop on my system Perhaps same thing is valid for you, just take a look to the Kaspersky settings |

At first I thought it must be something like this indeed. Yet another strange addition: it doesn't happen with D3D9.. So: - Only when the exe has its original name - Only when using D3D11 (rtg) |

The only thing which comes in my mind is if exist a way to exclude this mentioned policy
Why on my system there aren't ? Perhaps a different Kaspersky version ? Anyway, we are not sure problem is related to Kaspersky activity |

If WinUAE cannot detect your supposedly empty HDD, look for zap.exe or wipe.exe. | fmcpma | support.WinUAE | 5 | 08 August 2006 00:35 |
