Interesting - must be how John's programmer reads back the file. jedrevenge works on the one from amigawiki - which matches more or less the haynie one you have.

It works
My A3660 works!
Thank you John for your great work! Building this card was like a big adventure. From sourcing all the parts (some from forum members, thank you as well ) to reverse compiling GAL chips. I am using this card in my trusty old rev. 9/03 A3000. The card is build using Atmel/Microchip 'C' type GAL chips, the 74F175 instead of the 74F1803 and the newer DS1100Z delay line. I am using a MC68LC060 that seems to run very cool. At first the computer wouldn't boot with the A3660, giving me a yellow screen and a flashing power led. My delayline was set to 10ns. However, when I changed the delayline to 5ns it did boot. Timing is critical it seems. When I have the time I can do some measurements on the clock lines using a fast scope. So far, the system boots from floppy and runs games, demos and such fine. It crashes on the startup-sequence on my harddisk (standard OS3.9 with Cybergraphx V4). I still need to install the correct 040/060 libs for an FPU-less 060. But that is (hopefully) the easy part Here come the dirty pics, and, once again: cheers to you John for your great work! |

Nice work!
I did some reading and it looks like the TL866 won't program Atmel GALs, only Lattice GALs. The reason is explained here: http://www.bhabbott.net.nz/atfblast.html |

Just an update, I was able to program ATMEL ATF16V8B's GALs with my TL866 so long as I select the 'Encrypt Chip' option. Apparently that sets up the correct handshake before programming.

Nah, I was lucky enough to get a 3640 a couple of years before the hype and have an 060 adapter. I might build either Matze's accelerator for the 4000 (if/when it's ready) or else fingers crossed for one day a TF40something |
