Old pic of me and my Amiga 500 from 1988

I just came across this old photo of me from 1988 jamming to Sonix on some old Nova headphones. And that poster too! I can't recall if that is Shadow of the Beast or Terrorpods, or something else? Anyone recognize that Psygnosis artwork?

Wow, so cute, back when girls would wear bow ties in their hair.

Haha yeah, that was when the A500 lived in my parents side room and looked really 'proper'. I was still in school at the time. The next year it lived in my room upstairs which was far less organized per the pic below

Reminds me so much of my own Amiga days - the little lockable disk boxes, a little shelf of manuals, Psygnosis poster on the wall (I wrote directly to them and got sent a whole load for free - wish I'd kept them!) - even a little sister!

Next time I see my parents I have to dig out the old family photo albums, I'm sure there are hundreds of photos of me playing games on the family A2000.

Nice pic. Playing together on a computer, a lost bit of magic The pic instantly draws up happy memories from my own youth, it's just such a classic view; the monitor and keyboard, a box of discs front and center, books to the side, cables going everywhere.

Except that my brother did not have long hair.

The box of disks! Seems a central theme. I even made my own custom box out of a cardboard AT&T phone box. Had a section for Purchased games, pirated games, graphics and pictures, and off to the side the "technical" OS and boot stuff. Also had the requisite mini-shelf of about 10 books and manuals.

You had a section specifically for pirated games? I get it, you did not want your real discs "tainted"

Exactly. I eventually found the disks collected cardboard shavings/dust, so I always worked from copies that could be replaced. Then I eventually coated the inside with a spray lacquer.

Great picture, a lovely window into something repeated across the world with other Amiga owners at the time. I hope more people can find such pictures and share.

"Barbarian", great artwork of Roger Dean.
