Scans of the workbench diskette.
Looking for the scans of the various versions of Workbench.
1.3.3; 2.1; 2.04; 3.0; 3.1 to be more precise, i want to give a better look to my old disks since the age as done some damage to the original stickers. Can anyone help with these? Last edited by paulo_becas; 20 July 2010 at 09:37. |

Hi Fabie,
thanks for the scans . For archiving/printing/preserving purposes, do you think it could be possible to scan them at a higher resolution and a lower jpeg compression ratio? PM me if needed (the best would be 600 dpi 24 bit color for any scanned image, so that they can be then successfully descreened and scaled down to 300dpi, but I reckon this is not possible for all users to do) |

Not on the file server, in 'The Zone!' here on EAB (have a look at the links at the top of this page)

anyways I think 300 or 600 dpi will work ok...not much difference but if you have a good printer like an Epson with durabrite inks and you use a good adhesive paper...I guarantee that if you print my WB 31 scans...they will look like the original ones and nobody can notice the difference |

I just uploaded to the zone Fabie's 3.1 covers remastered, i hope you don't mind.
They are, now, with excelent quality. I can do the same with other covers, i'm offering my services to who ever wants some image treatment in other scans. Hope you guys enjoy this one. Uploaded to the Zone, Workbench 1.3.3, 2.04 and 2.1 covers as well and i'm working on 3.0 version, but still would be great to have the original covers scanned. Actually i re-made certain parts, like the amiga logo, i had one with extra high quality and replace the original scan, you can see the shadow in the amiga logo, that didn't exist in your original scan, i also cleaned up the color from the stripes the best i could, i think it turn out pretty cool.
The other ones were made just by looking at my original floppy, i'm looking for the original scans because some parts i just wasn't sure how they were, my disks are pretty messed up. Great, i'll compare them to the ones i made to see if theres something missing. Quote:

Well I must admit that I originally thought the idea of scans of workbench disk labels was a bit pointless but after seeing the results I am more than happy to say I was wrong.. Using these will make disk recognition so much easier than looking through all those disks with felt tip writing on them

I put some wb labels in the zone. I have made some wb label a long time ago and put them in the zone. I can't find them at the moment but I uploaded them a long time in the zone. Maybe someone can upload them again.

Interesting that I had never seen WB3.1 labels with the 'rainbow' graphic on previously.
The only 3.1 disks I've ever owned have the red & black 'diamond explosion' on them. Good thread chaps! |

I leave here a suggestion, why don't create in the EAB's FTP Server a folder with this kind of stuff, covers from apps and games, i know that there are a few sites that have the games part covered but how about aplications? Quote:
