Wow! Other super AMIGA news! For me this is a completely new title, I already have the Joy in my hands...

1) You did a great job pushing AMIGA even with the upgraded ones
2) Is there really anyone still playing with just one button?

If you hear the other Data East game, Darwin 4078, it shares the sound effects with Breakthru.

I can provide all the SFX on a long sample, so, Saimon69 can cut and convert all the sound effects for the game.

I did find that Darwin 4078 got the same sound effects than Breakthru, because it seems to share the same hardware. So, no need to hack the rom, I can sample all the sounds on a long WAV file and the musician can convert and cut the samples.

I think the sfx part is sorted out with the hidden service mode which has sfx test

Great job finishing a new arcade port!

Thanks guys, hope you will enjoy it. Amiga is massively blessed with arcade ports right now, long may that continue. Will be adding some finishing touches tonight and hope to be on itch within the next day or 2.

It's no jotd level of perfection but pretty close!

Thanks Toni for offering to do sfx, jotd actually kindly ripped them already, using MAME service mode. Trouble is the audio is something like 9 channel. JMD squashed it to 4 and the sfx interrupt the track too much. He tried a near 3 channel audio build but really, the same problem.

Sometimes you can get away with it, in this case it sounds really jarring. When I can find a way to throw sfx in I certainly will do.

I do not know if Saimon69 did bass+drums on the same channel, it is something easy to do and can get a free channel for other things.

If he needs help mixing kick with bass, I can help.

So, having one kick+bass sample and other bass sample, snare is alone, so, it is easy to get bass+drums on a single channel, but it can be just one kick+bass sample if you play with the sample play position, starting to play after the kick.

Congratulations for the conversion, I am a big fan of Breakthru arcade.

For how i packed the music (all songs in a mod) having bass and drums in the same channel will entice mixed samples and that might increase the mod size considerably so will need to do tests

Only mix kick+one note bass, snare is not mixed.

It did took TWO notes bass to be precise, i used only onr sample but should not be too perceivable, sent a test to acidbottle just now

Very nice port! Plays well on my A1200. Any way to enable the space bar for jump? For single button joysticks.

I think, fingers crossed, the music and sfx issue is now resolved, with thanks to JMD for the updated mod file

Will push an update with all new arcade sounds after a unrelated issue, that sometimes crops up, is resolved.
