Choosing a random Amiga game to play next
Most of the times, I choose which game to play next but sometimes I just want fate to make the choice for me.
I wish iGame, HOL or Lemon Amiga had a 'random game' button. None of them do, so here's how I do it:
Here's an example: I got T, 4 and 5, therefore I have to play one of these games: Is this too weird? I mean, even more than "47 year old man plays 30 year old computer games" weird? |

There's a random game selection on Amiga Lore:
https://www.abime.net/articles/view/amigaatoz It displays an # to Z list of random games. |

You can do it in Gamebase too (Random Select).
It's not weird at all, in fact it's a great way to discover new games, and much better than being forever stuck with one Favourites selection. I do it too, as well as chrono-gaming (play all games from one year) and mag-gaming (open a gaming magazine and play all the games page-by-page). |

Fantastic, this is just what I need! Thank you!
I do mag-gaming too. Chrono-gaming sounds interesting. |

It isn't for me, I'd rather play what I desire to play rather than just some random thing. I get it, sometimes you land on a complete gem you had wished you had known about for decades already. But often you don't. I don't share Zeus's need for self-punishment.

One man's "punishment" is another's "experiencing the history". For me it's actually great fun checking out all the obscure, bizarre and, yes, often crappy productions, especially when they're accompanied by other period-accurate media (mags, manuals, covers, etc...).

Discovering "new" things is very important to me. I'm not going the random route, but usually prefer association. This way, at least I have a starting point from something I already know. Still, I keep being surprised how many things I never even heard of, yet sound so interesting.

You can also help yourself with the games played during the super league. Look here : https://eab.abime.net/forumdisplay.php?f=85 .
Ps: In think Thunderboy is a game you can enjoy only if you don't know the game it is inspired from. |
