Learning AMOS - Beginners Guide Disks

These may have been uploaded before but just in case anyone fancies taking a look, here they are again... in The Zone.

I have been playing with AMOS for ages and not getting very far - I read about a Beginners guide disk that outlines real basic stuff - turns out, the disk was released by F1 - it's on the FI Licenseware CD but I thought I would upload it to the Zone in case it might be of benefit to others "mucking about" with AMOS.

In the zip file you can find Versions 1, 2 and 3 of this Beginners Guide - they are just updated versions so 3 is the one to check out really although I like the menu system of 1 and 2. All disks are in DMS.

I have several original, boxed AMOS software packages, but somehow have never got around to getting started with it, so those disks could come in handy!

Hi Mr.P - yes, same here, it's just getting the time (and energy) to be able to concentrate - I keep reading the books and dropping off (am I getting old!?)

I need a desert Island situation really to nail this... :-)

Brill! Had a look at these and will need to spend more time going through the chapters - looks like some useful tips are included.

Thanks for the heads-up on these, and for digging them out, Peter.

I've got AMOS Pro installed, and a number of books, but have only dabbled in the language a little.

Here's hoping there's enough here, and on the disks Christian at AmigaPD, highlighted a few weeks back, to finally get me up and running.

Hi Peter!
I had a quick look in the zone for these zips and I can't find them, I have never fully understood how the zone works.
Would there be any chance of you emailing them to me please?
I am still flirting with Amos but I still lack the ability to actually program stuff!

The Zone only keeps files for a few days, the original post is dated 2012.

I'm sure someone has a copy of them and will be along to Zone them for you though

If you can't wait that long, I'd try to find the F1 Licenceware disks "003, 050a, 050b, 089a, 089b" on your favourite search engine as these are what you're looking for.

Everything that is put in the Zone normally ends up on the EAB file server.

If the 2012 stuff is on there, I didn't find it when I had a look earlier. Had intended to reupload (and have a nosey myself) but struck out.

There's a 2013 and 2014 folder in the Zone archive on the FTP but nothing prior?

Actually, files uploaded to The Zone stay there for a maximum of 60 days now

They don't always stop in the Zone folder when moved to the server.

In this case they are in Commodore_Amiga\Doc\App_Hardware\Amos Documentation

...and predictably enough the noobie in me doesn't know what a DMS file is or what to do with it.
Any help here would be amazing, thanks guys!

(Are there .ADF versions of these disks at all?)

I am looking forward to getting stuck into these
