Streaming audio over an existing wifi network

Not sure if this should have gone in OT - Entertainment, sorry if I've got it wrong.

Anyway has anyone had any success in connecting their old analogue HiFi (tape decks, cd players, etc) over their home wifi network to either analogue speakers or wifi speakers?

Looking around there are lots of wifi receivers but I can't find a gizmo that has an audio input and a way of pairing it to your wifi router.

Given that there are gadgets that allow you to connect wired hardware to wireless networks, and receivers that connect speakers to wireless networks this just seems odd.

Anyway throwing this out there on the off chance that I've missed something (quite probable).

You could achieve this with a Raspberry Pi.
Here's one of many topics covering this case:

I don't think there's any solution you can just buy and use. DIY seems the best way anyway, you can customize this to work which ever way you want best.

Personally I have setup an icecast2 server at home to which I can stream audio from almost any device to my main media center connected to my Hi Fi, which is a Kodi box. The Kodi box also accepts UPNP and Airplay content, so pretty much every device at home can send stuff to it. But to make an old device send audio to something modern, you'll need something like the above solution. Haven't tried this yet because my main audio output is my hifi anyway, so if I have an old device, I just plug it to it with regular analog means. But if I had, say, a turntable in another too, I would do this.
