Regarding Jaguar XJ220 for ST:
- First you can blame Cody for mentioning it but not touching the HOL entry :
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=527095

- For anyone interested to get it, check this thread and especially the 6th post, because other links I could find no longer worked:
http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=25549

- I don't really know what to mention because a) the downloadable file clearly states "demo" b) I don't have much background info. on it.
The best I could do would be to paraphrase the Joy of Sticks article:
http://thejoyofsticks.wordpress.com/.../jaguar-xj220/

Edit: I could find back the article on Guardian of the Past thanks to the Wayback Machine:
http://web.archive.org/web/201111040...Version_ID=413

Most relevant parts:

So I would go with something such as "an ST version was in development, but was cancelled for unknown reasons 3 months after it was started. In 2009, a demo version of this ST conversion was made available by the conversion author".

Any suggestions?
3 years later and still note about this is missing

Those were just a ports of original C64 version (Amiga port was the last one), not ZX Spectrum as mentioned at HOL. Look here: http://www.retrogamer.net/retro_game...in-the-making/ DONE

Quote:
Work began on Myth in 1988, with development taking just over a year in total for the 8-bit computers. The programmer and graphic artist team of Pete Baron and Bob Stevenson worked on the original Commodore 64 version. “Bob and I had just finished a conversion of Konami’s Salamander,” begins Pete, “and it went down pretty well. So my agent, Jacqui Lyons, hooked us up with System 3 and Mark Cale for its next project.” Pete was handed a document detailing how System 3 imagined Myth that could transpire. “It wasn’t great, truth be told, and largely a sprawling collection of mythological research jammed into an ordinary platform game.”
Quote:
“It was written essentially for the Commodore 64 and didn’t seem to be something we could reproduce for the Spectrum. So we simply decided to interpret it as best we could.”

Some note about Locomotion (Byte Back) - title screen mentions it's arcade classics and indeed it's port of arcade game Super Locomotive - http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_de...p?game_id=9910 NOT NEEDED

Skaut Kwatermaster - another version of box (front, back are different from HOL) and disk. Since gold disk is now printed instead of form of sticker I assume that is some kind r-release or second press. Also PC screens. DONE

Kupiec - PC Windows (not DOS as mentioned at HOL) screens. Works nice even on 7 x86 (does not work on x64 edition) DONE

Traps'n'Treasures - polish disk but I think (not yet tested, I'll probably leave it to softpres team) in game is english. Distributed in pOland by Mirage Software. DONE

Miecze Valdgira II - only disk DONE

Cyber Kick - alternative disk DONE

Discer - only disk DONE

Sorry for not seeing this before. Thank you, fixed!

Edit: Spectrum screenshots added to HOL entries too!

I'm reasonably sure that "Arcade Classics" is just the name of the game series that Byte Back released a lot of "budget" games for. I think they ripped off a lot of old arcade games in the series, but never officially licensed any of them. Most of the games were years old by the time they released them for the Amiga, so most of the arcade publishers they ripped off had probably disappeared or didn't know/care.

In any case, I'll do a little more digging to see if they licensed any of the "Arcade Classics" games or not. If not, there will be nothing to add concerning official conversions to the HOL entries for Locomotion and the other Byte Back games in the series.

Sorry, I don't have any proof. Probably it's just a rip off. Just look at other games created by Cloud Nine

Summer Olympix - PC conversion - Reach out for Gold DONE

Robin Hood: Legend Quest - has NES conversion titled "Super Robin Hood" DONE

NOTE: CodeMasters also published Super Robin Hood as different game (totally different levels) on ZX Spectrum, Amstrad and C64. Even if NES conversion is close to amiga one they give name after different game. Really strange. [ Show youtube player ]

lilalurl has been MIA for quite some time now and not all of us religiously read EAB threads. Many thanks for the reminder - fixed a little while ago now!
