MANIC MINER vs CHUCKIE EGG - WHICH IS BEST?

Hi everyone and welcome to the April 2017 edition of the Which Is Best?
Last month I placed two Amiga shooters against each other,...X-Out & Z-Out, I can announce X-Out gained the victory with 20 votes with Z-Out claiming 15, Z-Out was storming ahead at the beginning by 12 votes to 5 but then X-Out started to crawl back to the point it was 14 all but in the end it overtokk Z-Out and claimed the victory,...nowhere near as many votes this time as the previous comparrison (Turrican vs Turrican II) but maybe it was all down to not many liking those games.

This month I'm going to test your loyalties and place two classic original ZX Spectrum platforms games against each other, one slow methodical and challenging, the other fast and furious, they are Manic Miner and Chuckie Egg, which do you think is the better game?!, only your votes will determine that,...happy voting!
P.s, I will only count the votes stated in the comments below and on the Youtube video.

All the best, Zeus.

Chuckie Egg for me - much better gameplay and the shock of the big bird coming out of it's cage trumps anything MM can muster...

Actually that changes things. The BBC version kicks the original's arse. Manic Miner then.

Manic Miner. My jaw dropped when I first saw it on the C64. One off those game memories similar to Tomb Raider on the PS1. A defining moment in my gaming history.

Chuckie Egg every time, what a great game. Recently discovered it on the Amstrad CPC which has different jumping dynamics to the Spectrum version I grew up on.

No love for the Dragon 32 version? :-)
The funny thing is the D32 rarely got ports but had both Chuckie Egg & Manic Miner.

Chuckie Egg was pretty decent!

My vote goes for Chuckie Egg. The ZX version was played to death when I was a wee lad.

Yes. The Dragon 32 version was clearly the best version.
