A500 with USB keyboard adapter

I have resurrected my A500 and treated her to a Checkmate case. However I have just discovered my keyboard has a fault with the ESC key...

Does anyone have any experience with these PS/2 keyboard or USB adapters that plug into the motherboard? I think if I could run a semi-modern keyboard with my Checkmate case then I might have a little more space on my desk.

I have one on my A600 (Bad Ribbon)
Works fine (even with a wireless keypad)
