T-Zero, Genetic Species...

Anybody played these AMIGA? Check the screen shots they look cool.
What AMIGA hardware did you need to play this at full-speed & graphics.
Anyone actually enjoyed these at full specs?

Genetic Species

And how about T-Racer a Project-X clone? I thought this was an AGA only.
It turns out to be OCS/ECS.

Genetic Species is actually quite good back when it came out, a direct attack on Quake but of couse PC owned :/ Its actually a danish company who made it and I believe its freeware now

It works on winuae too if you HD install it so if your miggy isnt up to it you can still experince it. The unique thing which seperates it from quake is that you can enter enemy robots and take over their funtions, pretty nifty idea although not many know this

noooo... you cannot compare Q with Genetic Species!!!!
Genetic Species can only be compared with Doom, IMHO ....
As for T-Zero it is a very nice game, and it runs excellent on my amiga, but I have a 060... genetic species also runs very good, but it's a 3D-FPS for amiga, and does not give the satisfaction of a 3D-FPS on the pc...

Oh guess i mixed them up, lol
I think it was Amiga Format that mad a crap review of it because the reviewer kept comparing it to the PC versions of Doom/Quake while other mags gave it high scores.

You can download the full version of Genetic Species from the Aminet:

http://www.aminet.net/search.php?que...c+species+full

The game itself is arse. It did not work on my towered 1200 with either an Apollo 060 or Blizzard 1260. I got it running in WinUAE, but it really wasn't worth the hassle. Stick with AB3D for the definitive Amiga first-person shooter. If you want something more advanced, go and grab a copy of ADoom (030 machines) or Doom Attack (040/060).

As for T-Zer0... It's a shoot-em-up. Exactly what you'd expect from that period of Amiga games, ie. it looks okay, if you like pre-rendered raytraced graphics, but plays like a public domain game.

I got Genetic Species from "back to the Roots" 2 years ago, but I couldn't get it started on an older version of WinUAE.

Maybe this copy of GS on AMINET will work better on a the new WinUAE....

Any link with T-Zero full?

But aren't these supposed to be CD games?
Does the link at Aminet include the CD audio aswell?
I hate games with no audio...

Thanks in advance.

Don't waste your time with these "demise of Amiga"-era games.

The demo was linked to recently:

Good luck getting it to run. It's a pooh-man's wannabe neogeo shooter anyway....

It is not hard to get this game running. It takes just a minute if you take some time for this game. And when you enter the first level, you can`t stop playing this masterpeace. Bombastic atmospheric megagame. I really love this game.

I think that GS is one of the best 3d shoot 'em ups for the 68k Amigas and it's quiet fast even on a 68030/50.
Also, the intro is one of the best that i've seen so far.
T-0 is a classic shoot-the-aliens-with-a-spaceship shoot 'em up, with very good and modern (for that time) sound and graphic effects.

Napalm was good but once again you needed a fast Amiga to play it.
