FYI - AMD GPU + Game Codes

Just a little FYI, it appears that the free game codes when purchasing AMD GPU's are for the EPIC Game Store

Pretty sure most of you were aware of this already but just wanted to make sure everyone understood this.

Haven't bought AMD since my Sapphire X850XT died in 2007 and the 'official' UK warranty company wanted £25.85 to process the RMA!

AMD, Pfftt!!

Technically it was ATI back in the day but they got absorbed into AMD in about 2006! It was a company called EQS Computers that did the UK Warranty for Sapphire and the £25.85 only allowed 2 cards to be RMA'd, still got the email:

Quote:
Dear Customer,

To start the Sapphire End User RMA process; please fill in the attached form and return it to me. Details on how to fill in this form can be found bellow.

Please note that we charge an administration fee of £25.85 GBP including VAT for all customers. This fee covers a maximum of 2 cards only. Any subsequent cards will be charge accordingly.

We just offer payment by www.paypal.co.uk (please read FAQ/help if you have problem here).

Within the next 3 days, after receiving a reply from you we will request the payment via PayPal. If you don’t receive it (please check your spam filter), please send us a reminder again.

After having received your payment we can start processing your RMA. Furthermore we have to issue an RMA-number with our factory in Hong Kong, which can take up to 4-5 days. Afterwards you will get an email from us, including this RMA number and all the other necessary information.

Furthermore you are responsible for shipping the card (without any cables or accessories) and all incidental costs to us, we will pay for the return.
Even had to pay to send the bastard back!

But isn't the blame with Sapphire though, since they manufactured the card and offered the warranty? If your Amiga stopped working back in the day, you wouldn't call Motorola or Sony just because they supplied some of the chips in the computer.

Seeing as it was a Sapphire card that failed and Sapphire being part of AMD in 2007 when the card failed I still blame AMD, it's guilt by association

AMD, Pfftt!!
Companies: pffftt.

Let's not pretend companies such as Intel or Apple are any better than AMD, they all want you to pay three times for everything.
