A600 floppy placement.

I`m building my A600HD and one thing bothers me:
orginally it came with top metal shield. floppy lies on top of it, just like this:

i`ve marked interesting spot - corner of the drive.

as i had to remove shield, now my floppy lies directly on the board (there is defenitely contact there):

even if it`s tightly screwed to the case, it will slightly move when inserting/ejecting disks and scratch mobo components with its corner. what do you think - should i secure it somehow or what?

PS - photos are not takem by me, used from amiga.org gallery

To be honest, I have been running 2 of my A600's for about 3 years without a shield and havent had a problem?
However I will look into it when I get home!

Do you secure the floppy unit from outside too?

In the outer bottom case there two holes who matches the screw holes from the floppy unit.

Floppy on motherboard == bad.

Just get some sticky contact pad things (eg 3M) to cushion it and at the same time fix it in place....a 2-for-1 solution

I never gave that much thought myself, I've never owned an A600 that has the metal shield in place. :-)
