A600 floppy placement.
I`m building my A600HD and one thing bothers me:
orginally it came with top metal shield. floppy lies on top of it, just like this:  i`ve marked interesting spot - corner of the drive. as i had to remove shield, now my floppy lies directly on the board (there is defenitely contact there):  even if it`s tightly screwed to the case, it will slightly move when inserting/ejecting disks and scratch mobo components with its corner. what do you think - should i secure it somehow or what? To be honest, I have been running 2 of my A600's for about 3 years without a shield and havent had a problem?
However I will look into it when I get home! |

Do you secure the floppy unit from outside too?
In the outer bottom case there two holes who matches the screw holes from the floppy unit. |

I never gave that much thought myself, I've never owned an A600 that has the metal shield in place. :-)
