No more so than typing POKE 59458,62 into a PET emulator would.

It changes the video timing, which on some versions of the hardware just make the screen refresh faster, but on others could cause the CRT voltages to go way higher than normal: http://www.6502.org/users/andre/peti...oke/index.html
