I would love for random to be an actual thing. You're one of many that continues to show it doesn't exist; everything is connected. Well, done, Toni, well, well done. YAY!! So far, from simple tests A2065 and X-Surf 100 Z3 are successful with several downloads in a row.

Hi,
I read the whole thread but I did not understand what could be the best choice I was trying x-surf 100, I chose x-surf.device 020 with Z2 to try it seems to me that speed has increased and does not stop what could be the best choice for 4.1 ? better 030Z3nd ? Thank you for an answer. |

I am not sure if you're asking for this but I use RTL8029 PCI (NE20000) compatible.
Network mode with SLIRP + Open Ports (21-23,80) ... Works great for me. I have a few different configs that I use although they are pretty much the same (020,030,040,060) ... |

@Saghalie
Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried various connections with different devices, but I saw, that some programs they stop working. If I try for example wget oppute curl associated with yt.rexx the program crashes. For example if I use ethernet.device these programs work well. But if I change the device for example with rtl.device or x-surf.device to try the new connection to see the differences these programs crash. Unfortunately I have no crashes from winuae, so I can not have a log to prove this. Thank you very much for your answer and help. Currently x-surf.device 020 works perfectly in Z2 with 4.1 but the problem mentioned above remains Last edited by White; 25 February 2018 at 20:00. Reason: error |

For OS 4.1 using WinUAE...the 040 version does well. For my Classic Amiga 4000's using OS 4.1, then 030z3nd and 030z3fd seem to do well. But I don't do a lot of surfing with OS 4 with Classic.

@ AC / DC HACKER!
Thanks for the reply, I tried various configurations, now everything works fine. when I use x-surf I use 020 or 040 in Z2 these remain only experiments. At the moment ethernet.device seems the most efficient solution with 4.1 fe1 at least for me. It has been repeated several times that the ppc with 4.1 is an experiment. But it works really well for me, I'm talking about streaming browsing and other little things. Thanks for your suggestions. But even if the 4.1 is not officially supported by winUAE full-time, the work done even if experimental and done really well. So I can not add anything else, I still thank Toni for the work he has done and continues to do. Too bad I'm not at least I think I use it, it could be further improved on the side of the software. Hello and thank you again for your advice. Have a good day. :-) |

No one can know without testing with real hardware if used m68k NIC driver is actually bug free enough to work in OS4.
About speed: there should not be much speed difference between emulated NICs, (even if selected NIC in real world can only do 10M/s, it won't make any difference in emulation). At least technically PCI NE2000 should be fastest due to using DMA and having native PPC driver (?) but it also needs PCI bridgeboard. |

Hi Toni,
Thanks for the explanation and your work. I always continue with the tests with the 4.1 I am satisfied with this emulation. And the beta version of netsurf 43.18 is now working perfectly with the yt.nsrx script to watch streaming videos. The version I use and YT.rexx 1.6 I've tried Thanks to its author he did an extraordinary job. That's why I sometimes talk about software to improve emulation. Thanks again I'm really satisfied. Unfortunately at the moment I do not have the possibility to make a small donation and I'm sorry. But as soon as things go well, this will certainly be something I will do. Excuse me, here is a small sample video of netsurf 3.8 4318 with yt.rexx 1.6 that uses yt.nsrx for streaming.
I hope it can be improved with time this is a very good base, this version works very well. Thanks again. [ Show youtube player ] |
