Strange recoverable alert....
This is odd...
For no particular reason my A1200 HD (emulated in WinUAE) suddenly started giving the following recoverable alerts.... ERROR: 0100 0009 TASK: 0020F858 and then ERROR: 0100 000F TASK: 0020F858 This ONLY happens if there is a User-Startup file in S: and even if said file only contains a semi-colon ";" This problem has only started recently and it has been fine for years. (I have not updated WinUAE recently either) Can anyone give me some idea why this happens please? TIA V1 |

Both are memory related. ("Freeing memory already freed" and "Memory header not located")
Probably something in your startup-sequence is corrupting memory and user-startup is only making the bug visible. |

OK I just replaced the Startup-Sequence with the bog standard one from the workbench floppy and exactly the same thing happens.
I'm not sure what to do next  I doubt that it's a UAE problem, more likely my settings or something. |

I didn't mean problem is startup-sequence. Anything that gets run from startup-sequence can cause it. Too many possibilities.

Thanks for that Toni, Problem solved now
 I simply copied the whole contents of C on the WB floppy to the HD and now it's fine. All I can assume is that one of the files had somehow been corrupt or replaced. I would never have thought of that without your help. Thank you very much (Also thanks for WinUAE it's a fantastic piece of work!!) V1 |

You should check for viruses.
If command files get corrupted on disk, they won't load any more. you would only get a message "file is not executable" or "checksum errors in disk block xy". Your case more looks like an intentional change to executable files, probably meant for a different version of the operating system and thus throwing the errors your saw. |
