SWOS '96/'97 Stand-alone - Cracked

Did anyone ever crack the stand-alone version of SWOS '96/'97? The only cracked versions I could find were for the update disks, which require the user to insert 'old disk 1' when loading.

I took it upon myself to crack it. I didn't bother with an intro, more effort that it would have been worth trying to fit one on the disk.

Great work... I assumed the updates were for latest teams or am I getting confused with another SWOS?

You're getting confused lesta_smsc.

Sensible World Of Soccer '96/'97 is the last official release from Sensible and released back in 1996.

Oops. There is WHDLoad version, does that mean it was cracked for running in this format only?

Just tested the Hellfire crack, and it's definitely asking for 'old disk 1'. I downloaded the version Galahad linked to on the Planet Emu site to make sure.

However, the 'alt' version, tagged with [a], seems to not require it. It still asks for a couple of seconds, then the request goes away and it asks for disk 2 as usual. So they removed the check from the update version. I cracked the stand-alone version, so I'd suggest mine is a cleaner crack.

I've never checked but all of these collections that have various tags appended to the release must mean something, but how does one clarify WHAT exactly the various releases provide eg the alt version in this case?
