Waaaay back when I originally painted it was satin black, but so many people back then were doing black or red when I came around to painting it again I decided on blue as I hadn't seen another that colour at the time.
Coincidentally I notice the new kick-starter cases are available in a very similar blue colour. |

Originally: Rub down, coat of plastic primer, rub down another coat of plastic primer. Coat of colour, light rub down final coat of colour. Two coats of satin clear lacquer. It's 3rd respray: Rub down flattening all the existing paint off, taking care to rub down all the little crevices. Two coats of blue, two coats of gloss clear laquer. I don't think I'd be able to paint this case again without taking it almost back down to the original surface. Last edited by Mick_AKA; 24 September 2017 at 16:33. |

What about the keys, how did you get them black? or did you buy black keys at the time?

Pulled them all off a CDTV keyboard, not something I’d do nowadays but they were plentiful and cheap back when I did it.

Fair enough, I wish there were keyboards out there in the wild that I can do the same too, but not cd32 keyboards of course since they're rare now.

Digging around I found another much older pic from the very first time I painted it, I totally forgot that it had been silver before black.
