Never mind, had to clear firefox cache, bizarre.
Was it just "page not found" text in top-left corner, or the whole firefox one in centre of screen, with suggestions on how to rectify it? If it was the former, I got that once the other day, but EAB has worked perfectly fine for me since then

Glad to be back!

But what is meant by "### PASTE YOUR ADSENSE CODE HERE ###" when I wasn't logged in?

You went from PHP 5.2 to PHP 5.4? Does that mean you went from Debian Lenny to Debian Wheezy? If so, you're a braver man than I! I would have gone to Squeeze first, then Wheezy, but then again you probably should have upgraded to Squeeze a year or so ago when Lenny dropped security support.

Anyhow, it's awesome that it's back up! Seems about 75% of the solutions I was searching for the other day pointed to eab, and since it was down, I hopped on IRC to see if any help was needed, but it looks like you took care of it. Awesome.

I know I've once or twice had issues with the UUIDs not being updated because I accidentally said 'no' to automatically fix them when updating Grub, that sounded to me like that's what the issue was with md0 not mounting right.

Thanks for reporting this.

Since the recent update, the GMs have been notified of all LinkBacks appearing in threads, because they require approval before they are made visible to all forum users.

LinkBacks awaiting approval have been amassing since the update, while we have become accustomed to the new forum features.

I have just approved all the outstanding LinkBacks in one fell swoop to avoid them building up to the point where they become unmanageable. I'm sorry, I hadn't realized that this would trigger an avalanche of emails directed at thread subscribers. This will only happen just this once, due to the backlog I have just cleared.

I didn't have time to check all the links this time, so if anyone finds any of them objectionable, would they please report them, so that we can delete them. This will have to be done by PM to any of the GMs, as there doesn't seem to be a separate mechanism for reporting LinkBacks. Thankyou.

I'm still seeing this warning message occasionally before the Who's Online page is displayed.

I first try to upgrade to Squeeze, but the mdadm raid was unable to autostart my raid, and after 24h of testing / debugging / fixing intitramfs / check uuid, I decided to took the server at home and reinstall from scrach Wheezy release

Is it just me, or is everyone seeing all threads paginated at 30 posts per page from today?

This cannot be overridden with Control Panel options, so if this is the new forum default, is there a good reason why it has been changed? The thread pagination was previously set at 40 posts per page for as long as I can remember.

In moderating forums, I have often added a quote to the first reply on a new page to make it more clear what the reply refers to and the new pagination will make that effort rather pointless.

Confirmed: It was 40 and I decreased it to 30 for everyone.
I change this to save CPU power. (Our server load average is still too high)

I will try with 20 posts before page split to see % of CPU improvement. (most of forums split page after 15 posts by default)

I've just found something weird.

On clicking the following link (or any EAB link)

http://eab.abime.net/support-other/6...tml#post886336

The page loads instantly and displays this in the foorer:

"Page generated in 0.28632 seconds with 12 queries"

However, if I click that link from Mibbit it takes MUCH longer and display this in the footer:

"Page generated in 10.42666 seconds with 12 queries"

Ah, so that's the reason! I hadn't realized it loaded the CPU to that extent!

In that case, 20 posts per page is actually preferable to 30 for two reasons, because then at least the original page breaks are preserved too!
