Raspberry PI SCSI emulator

This looks really cool - has anyone tried this on a A2091 (or similar) ?

Sure, i just got the pcbs in my hand today. I need to check them out and order components.
This could take awhile. Just had My vacation and out of money until my next paycheck the 25 aug.

I hope the cad design is correct though
And i can test this on my Gvp040, and some scsi 500 sidecars too

Existing design. But even developer has not tested it yet what i know of.

Built one yesterday, Activity led is flashing.
But i dont find the default image *.hds file.

Anyone knows what ID gvp040 combo is?

Scsi Controller id is 0 i think?
So my image should have a id between 1-7?
Also the RaScsi has no termination. That i have to solve by using a hdd at the end of the scsi chain.leds on RaSCI and hdd was constant and no boot before i went to bed. Now when i Think of it the default id on img is 0. Rascsi got terminated. But img 0 and Controller 0. Might got it to hang the whole thing?

Im using hdtoolbox to try detect the image ofcourse. Since amiga cant find it auto. Unless i have a amiga RDB img. In one of the supported formats.

Most SCSI controllers are ID 7.

You are right, according to gvp manual and ralph babel the controller ID is 7. And 0-6 should work.

To to be more specific, a drive totally without jumpers will be identified with ID 0. One with all jumpers set will be set as ID 7. Hence, it makes sense for the controller to be set as ID 7 (no cost involved) or it would collide with unjumpered drives.

Finaly!

The pcb design was wrong.
Not my fault i just ordered someone else (untested) design. So i made another adapter board between rascsi and my Raspberry zero. To change a bunch of gpio pins.

Now its working.

The design can probably work. By recompiling the software with the right pin config.

But i stumbled on a baremetall software which boot in a sec. That i think has no source.
Who wants to wait some minutes for a linux dist to boot before you power on your amiga. The baremetal can be shut off anytime.

Bought a prebuilt RaSCSI board from samplerspa.de which I have mated to a rpi3b+ and connected to my A3000.

Works fine both HD and CD - can eject/insert iso files for the CD on the fly. Not terribly fast, supports async SCSI and does reads at approx 1.1MB/sec.

Overall nice and useful thing to have as a secondary storage option.

I considered getting one but don't feel like going down from 7MB/s to around 1MB/s.
Think I'll stick with real SCSI drives for now.

Cool! To use, is it basically as simple as selecting a Hard Disk Image file like you would use in emulation from the micro sd on the raspberry pi?

I am going to order one for my Macintosh, but like the idea of using it with the Amigas as well. I saw a benchmark that seemed to indicate the rascsi will be faster than the SD2SCSI so long as the Pi is a Zero or 4 model.
