Happy Andreas' miggy treasure chest

This thread is meant for all that stuff which I can pick up bit by bit when looking through some scene CDs.
This is sort of a long shot, because if you take 100 images, there's 99 (usually unnecessary) [a] versions and 1 mere rarity or non-TOSEC crack.
You may also request stuff you missed because of the "zone timeout". (FUL = first time uploaded at ... ; no language given = 'English' by default.

Comment:
Rare alternatively titled one. Same game as Block Shock: The Last Chance, but scorefield graphics are different (BS = cockpit-like; SW = circuit-board-like); some credits were modified as well.
[i]This game is in no way related to "Shockwave" by Light Source - so do not confuse them![i]

[24] Program type: GAME
FUL: 08/02/04
Title: Tube Warriors AGA
Copyright: (c) 1994 Dynamix

[25] Program type: GAME
FUL: 11/02/04
Title: Elfmania [HD installer]
Copyright: (c) 1994 Renegade
Done by: Over The Top (OTT)
TOSEC: n/a
Works perfectly on 68040+ Amigas.
Does neither need WHDload nor JST!
Note: you have to copy MemRun to your SYS:C directory - otherwise the OTT loader will crash!

[26] Program type: GAME
FUL: 13/02/04
Title: Crazy Cones
Copyright: (c) 1992 Dakamar Software
Cracked by: SKID ROW
Trained by: G.I.N.
HD and ECS/AGA compatibility fix by: G.I.N.
TOSEC: NO
Comment: - none -

[27] Program type: GAME
FUL: 16/02/04
Title: Burger Man
Copyright: (c) 1991 Byte Back
Cracked by: FAIRLIGHT (FLT)
TOSEC: YES
Comment: Two versions in TOSEC available now.

[28] Program type: GAME
FUL: 13/03/04
Title: Dylan Dog 01 - La Regina delle Tenebre
Copyright: (c) 1992/93 Simulmondo, Italy
Cracked by: COMAX
TOSEC: NO
Comment: Rare! Italian version with ORIGINAL Italian title! TOSEC only holds the IBB version translated to English.

[29] Program type: GAME
FUL: 15/08/04
Title: King's Quest II - Romancing the Throne [v2.0j]
Copyright: (c) 1986/87 Sierra On-Line
Cracked by: FAIRLIGHT
TOSEC: NO
Comment: Rare! FLT crack is pretty scarce ... note that the digitized/sampled tune used in the text intro (Spirit in the Sky by Doctor and the Medics, 1986) does NOT play correctly on older WinUAE versions. Might require a bit of fiddling with the settings.

@TOSEC: Please do not forget the [m] tag! This disk seems to have been in german hands for a while, as I found an AmigaPlus bootblock on it!
(AmigaPlus is a German diskmag, which mainly issues applications on its coverdisks.)

[30] Program type: GAME
FUL: 01/10/04
Title: Emeraude Empire
Copyright: (c) 1990 Free Distribution Software / GFX Movies
TOSEC: NO
Comment:
- Very rare French PD title! Google search gives 6 hits - no more!
- This is NOT an Emerald Mine clone. It reminds me lots more of PENGO by Colosoftware (C64).

[31] Program type: GAME
FUL: 13/02/05
Title: Cloud Kingdoms
Copyright: (c) 1990 Logotron
[Amiga version published by Millennium in 1991]
TOSEC: NO
Comment:
Scarce CLASSIC crack of this fairly common game.
Includes a demo of Kid Gloves, hence it should be put into compilations dat (just like the PNA-cracked/Piranhas-trained version which is already in)
WinUAE: Crack uses nifty decrypter; cycle-exact mode only!

The Hole-In-One disks are far from rare in Australia. I believe they got bundled with A500s at some point.
But if they're rare elsewhere, I guess they qualify to be in the list....I guess.

Yep, agree with Miggyboy on this one, had a relative get his A500 pack with Hole-in-One, & recall those courses vividly, I think it would've been 1988'ish.

Sorry Aussie mates, but this is utterly pearls in Europe, whilst it might have been widely available in AUS. Thing is though, I couldn't know that. My infos and statements can only reach within European territory, not beyond.

Kodoichi, it's about that special Course Disk 3.
If you really have the others as well, you could contribute some screenies for HOL.

Well, I have the one with the 'Alphabet', 'Out of this World' and 'Holidays' courses. I was just pointing out that it isn't that rare in Europe.

Zak McKracken uncracked english version is already in TOSEC. We don't need another alternate one because the one in TOSEC is error-free.

If needed (don't know if it's in TOSEC), I have some Lucasfilm games uncracked and in french version (Zak McKracken, Maniac Mansion, Indy 3, Loom, Monkey Island).

OK, I've looked and checked.

Hmm. Your "uncracked english version" is a version that according to the tag needs Workbench ([WB]).
Mine does not but it auto-boots, so I consider it better, and therefore I upped it. And yes, I did look into the database BEFORE that, mind you
(commodore amiga - games - adf (v-z) (tosec-v0.27-xx))

@abelthorne: Cool!
This could be useful. Zak french is modified (ugh) by TITAN, who wanted to eternalize himself in the image. Loom french only version available is cracked by Angels.

@andreas:

Okay, then let's come back to your "Zak original english version": If it auto-boots, it's not original. You consider it better ? I tell you it's hacked, the TOSEC version is not...

I have the following :
- Zak McKracken
- Maniac Mansion
- Loom
- Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
- The Secret of Monkey Island

All dumped from my original disks and thus uncracked.

Just tell me which ones you need and I'll upload them to the Zone.

I can't say you're wrong, nor can I say you're right.
@all: is it true that Zak original english was NOT auto-booting but *required* a workbench?
I can hardly believe this unless someone else confirms it. Sorry WK.

@abelthorne: I think TOSEC could need them all. (Sorry, you wanted to know )

Maybe you both have a vocabulary problem : I guess that Zak McKracken is autoboot as it boots the workbench up and then you have to run the game by double-clicking on its icon. If it really boots and starts the game itself, I guess that it's indeed a hack.

As for the french versions, I'll upload them to the Zone asap.

Thanks for the uploads!

Vocabulary problem? I don't think so. Yet I'll be damned, WK seems right, as your disk behaves the same: 'DOS' garbage all over in block 0, no boot block, not even a workbench installed!
This original Zak disk 1 of yours is 98% full - no space for loadWB!

Yet incredibly awkward (from Lucasfilm) to *require* the user to have a Workbench handy! I just couldn't be arsed to believe this is true without a clear proof. So apparently the originals WERE like that indeed (this disk is a true original and not modified in any way). Seems so is life, then.

I thought that every Lucasfilm games would load workbench on their own but I've just checked and my Zak disks are indeed not booting. So I looked into the doc and here is what it says :

"Bring Workbench on your Amiga. Insert Zak McKracken's disk 1 in the floppy drive. Open the disk icon and click twice on Zak's icon (glasses on big nose). When asked, insert disk 2."

I don't know if the others games I've posted boot up or need to run workbench before too ?

I guess that Lucasfilm didn't make their games run because the user needed to use workbench to be able to install them on harddrive (although they could have made them boot and put something in the doc like "to install, first run workbench, then insert Zak's disk and click on hd install").

Happy

hm don't try to ask me why I thought that a German original could be different from an English original. Maybe because I thought the German distributor was wiser and made life easier for players? Hell no, don't ask me

OK, didn't know that you don't like translated versions and my guesses were indeed 1) german version 2) english version (in this order) ... so no offense
