our computer lab was strictly IBMs, 95% being PC Jrs. in fact, it was my job to boot them all. the only Amiga i have ever had any physical contact is the A500 sitting here in my room, courtesy of eBay. its not hard to believe such a revolutionary piece of software be in development for several yrs?

my guess is a demo disk found its way in shipment of software purchased by the school through a mail-order catalog. if you still have doubts then ask the developer if he can somehow be tracked down. i would like to hear what he has to say. Amiga version seems to be a direct port right down to the synthesized guitar!!!

@jharrison
Do you have any info about the developer or any site mentioning the PC version? I can't find any on the net. Like Galahad said it must be a port and not the original (or something is terribly wrong... ). |

Ah okay, but you had it on disk. Let's hope someone does know where this version is coming from (but maybe this is the wrong forum for this question ).

i just want to make it clear, this wasn't my disk. a gentleman by the name of D. Stanton owned it.@CyberDruid if this thread is better suited somewhere else so that more people will see it then it should be moved.

It was long ago. I also remember some weird things from Amiga times (playing Punisher from Capcom on Amiga (beat'em up, not shooter), some cute platform game with little Indian and textured labyrinth in full 3D with smooth animation on A500 (only preview, without enemies).

No offence buddy, but I think your addled mind and nostalgia are playing tricks on you. The amount of times people come onto EAB asking for a name for a game and they are 10000% certain its Amiga, then it turns out to be for a completely different system. |

The PC wasn´t capable of doing smooth parallax scrolling in 1988.
No need to mention its "sound capabilities". You said, you played it in school, right? I doubt they equipped their PCs with expensive soundcards at that time. |

The PCjr with it's 8088 CPU and poor video could not handle SOTB2. (I have an expanded PCjr and the games are less than spectacular.)
Sorry, your memory is wrong. |

I checked some PCjr videos. Its specs are more like a CPC than an Amiga.
And this is Beast for the CPC: [ Show youtube player ] |

@jharrison - Not trying to poke fun. I have an upgraded PCjr, and knowing the system it's just not possible. |

Quoted from Wikipedia: "while the PCjr may have been superior to its competitors in running office suite software, it was clearly inferior to the Commodore 64 and the Atari 8-bit family as a gaming platform; unlike them, it had very limited color capabilities (due to its CGA-derived graphics chip) and no support for hardware sprites. Also, the sound chip was nowhere near as advanced as the MOS Technology SID found in the C64" |
