Oh, and i've now done a BETA version for real Amigas to try out.

So far only working with 68000, will endeavour to work out why it won't work on A1200 at the moment.

It's a "Where Time Stood Still" conversion for Amiga from the Atari ST version of the game.

WOW. Great work Galahad I can test it on A600 (1Mb chip/8Mb fast) and WinUAE (and 1200 when it starts working)... if you need a beta tester.

LOL This is a port from Atari ST .. similar architecture, same CPU ...

Great Escape was ZX, CPC (Z80) and C64 (6502) - you will be better off using an emulator for that, otherwise it would be basically recoding the whole thing.

Will be available later on today, just asking a few people to see if the realtime screen conversion routine can be speeded up as the game runs on 68000

Yes, I know it's a version of ST.
It's just that I like to see a color version and the Amiga.

I don't know if this is of any use but a long time ago Amiga & Atari coder Mr.STYCKX (aka Nicolas Pomarede) wrote a YM2149 emulator for the Amiga and his archives include the musics from "Where time Stood Still". He is still active in the Atari scene and co-maintains the Atari emulator Hatari.

The main MyST archive includes the YM2149.bin which works with 68000 and details in the DOC directory of how to use it.

http://aminet.net/package/mus/play/MYST_Main_v10

Data Set 4 contains the Fred Gray music to WTSS (YM2149/Misc/YM.WhereTimeStoodStill)

http://aminet.net/mus/play/MYST_Data_4.lha

Ok at 20% utilisation of a standard 68k it may be a little slow for use with A500 but still potentially a fun and easy implementation for accelerated Amiga's?

Thanks for that, I might well see if its implementable, and if it is, have it as an additional selectable thing for 68020+ users.

Hopefully someone who shall remain nameless is doing something that will take up less processor time, just waiting for him to let me know its done

Beta is done, but after posting a query about trying to find the ultimate Atari ST to Amiga realtime screen conversion routine, thats kind of generating some killer ideas, and I want to get the best from that before I put this out to general beta testing.

However, it is in the hands of two other people, one who has given invaluable Beta assistance, so a couple of bugs have been cured already, so it does exist I can assure you.

Once we have a conclusion to the screen redraw effort, then a Beta will be forthcoming after that, as any solutions are easily and quickly implemented.

Bugger, it appears the author had plans to write a specific binary file that could be included in stuff like i'm doing, but he's never actually gone ahead and written it Considering he wrote the MYST stuff back in 1998, I think its safe to say here in 2014, its not happening.

I suppose we could look at the specifics of how the replayer for Deliplayer/Eagle Player is implemented and maybe change that to a standalone binary like a normal Protracker routine with mt_init, mt_play and mt_stop functions.

I spoke to him today about it. He was sure it was in that archive. Is it not YM2149.bin?

From what I can tell you probably don't need the YM music file as that is already incorporated inside the ST game. All you need is the emulator and where to patch the existing music routine which would have written to the YM registers.

Not much to go on, I'll ask for some more details if you like?

Great effort... of course we would like to see best possible speed Will be definetly nice to see it running on the A600.

btw. might be more luck when searching for AY player routines. Where time stood still on ZX Spectrum sounds better than the ST YM version Atleast I think so...
