4-Way Buffered IDE Interface
Hi all, on a desktop A1200, are these adaptors installed inside or outside of the case? If inside are there any pics that i can see?

Make sure you witness it working before cutting a lump out of your 1200!
Filliing the hole with isopon and getting a match was very difficult. Good luck |

Ok it is in and it works with 2.5 3.5 and cdrom!!
However I have about a 20 sec wait after power on before WB loads... Also After soft reset, I get dumped to the floppy request screen, the HDD are not seen unless I power off and on again. This never happened before the interface (using the same boot 2.5HDD, so i dont suspect slow spin up time, unless the buffered interface slows it down?) I use 3.1 roms and I know that there is an issue with their long seek times, but I didnt have this problem before the buffered ide interface. Any suggestions? |

just double check, your device jumper settings.
a while ago, when I had both a IDEFIX97 and EIDE max99 both woul work ok but i needed to change the hard disk and rom over to cable select on the max99 otherwise it would only boot to hard disk infrequently. very strange. I put it down to CDROM at the time as it was an old 4 speed, but it never did it on the idefix97. so try your jumpers, it wont hurt. |

I fit my IDE interface in the amiga 1200. I never liked this so I bought a longer lead so I could fit the IDE interface outside the amiga. I then used a clear plastic disc box to cover the IDE interface so it couldn't get dirty or damaged.

@ Zetro, thanks will try that.
@Adgloride, I agree, it is pretty hairy all those bare pins etc. I am using all the pins now so I fitted it inside and all seems to work...... except as above lol |
