Very sleek Atari ST game NOT on the Amiga

Here is something Atarians can make Amigans very sad about:

Zero 5 is a very polished and nicely thought out shooter, with beautiful graphics and sound. Though I never played this until using STeem emulator, I do not think this was exclusively an Atari Falcon game. It isi listed an as STE game in the opening credits on the video. Of course, we all know the Falcon was superior in specs to an Amiga 1200.

I wonder what they did with all the cash they got from selling 8 copies of that. Looks interesting but it doesn't appear so dramatically beyond the Amiga's capabilities (especially an Amiga with an accelerator).

The graphics remind me a bit of Starfox on the SNES. The sound is crap, but then again maybe even then they had a taste for retro Gameplay doesn't look too exciting, so the only thing that's quite cool is the mixture of polygons and bitmap graphics there. The speed is also not bad, but using an emulator might give a false impression of the game on the real machine.

I think an Amiga 1200 stock could have made this game look better than a smelly Falcon 030 any way.

Doesn't look that special at all tbh, very much like Stellar Assault on the 32X.

It seems to run surprisingly smooth but that's all about it.

It does have an 030 behind it in that video... I bet it runs nowhere near as fast on a real STE.

But anyway, I have played it, and I love these kinds of games. It is no R Type or Gradius or Xenon, but it is indeed very nice. And it could have been a nice addition to the Amiga collections of the day.

Dashboard from Captain Blood, gameplay from Solvalou?

Looks pretty though. I guess Atari had to get at least 1 game right amongst the myriad crap

I tried this game a couple of days ago, it's quite good. I'm glad I could install it to HD though as it was diskswap city!
