Dune1 how to switch different language versions (e.g. Italian or Spanish)

I'm sorry if it's a redundant post and guess it's already been explained but in case somebody doesn't know it... Amiga Dune wasn't released officially for Amiga in Spain (but it was for MSDOS).

How to switch between different languages in DUNE 1:
1.-download MSDOS version. You will find some files inside named:

COMMAND1.HSQ - English
COMMAND2.HSQ - French
COMMAND3.HSQ - German
COMMAND5.HSQ - Italian
COMMAND6.HSQ - Spanish

PHRASE11.HSQ - English
PHRASE12.HSQ - English
PHRASE21.HSQ - French
PHRASE22.HSQ - French
PHRASE31.HSQ - German
PHRASE32.HSQ - German
PHRASE51.HSQ - Italian
PHRASE52.HSQ - Italian
PHRASE61.HSQ - Spanish
PHRASE62.HSQ - Spanish

Copy these files to your whdload dune1 english installed version.

Simply rename/backup ENGLISH files:

rename COMMAND1.HSQ COMMAND1.HSQ-ENGLISH
rename PHRASE11.HSQ PHRASE11.HSQ-ENGLISH
rename PHRASE12.HSQ PHRASE12.HSQ-ENGLISH

and copy your desired language (e.g. spanish):
copy COMMAND6.HSQ COMMAND1.HSQ
copy PHRASE61.HSQ PHRASE11.HSQ
copy PHRASE62.HSQ PHRASE12.HSQ

PROFIT :-)

It would be nice if whdload slave supported switching between languages using a tooltype but until that happens... no need to play with corrupt versions.

I guess an AGA version would be a lot of work and would involve rewriting a lot of functions... there are "unhsq" sources if someone is interested, could be a good starting point to check if MSDOS gfx could be used.

OpenDune is a remake of Westwood's Dune II. This post was about Cryo's Dune I.
