Wow very nice, can you post what kind of PCI to PCIe adapter you are using?

Updated the prometheus.library to 4.5 to include the bridge fixes. Now you can connect an M1 to a PCI to PCIe bridge to a PCIe to PCI bridge to the PCI slot of a Firebird/Firestorm.
Or add an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX to your big box miggy! Whoopi! With help from Jaime Cagigal, thanks! File is in the first post. |

So, is it necessary to use a PCI->PCIe bridge -> PCIe -> PCI bridge to make it work?
Or is that just because of card length that you are using? |

It was on one hand just extreme examples. On the other hand the M1 only seems to work behind a bridge. Otherwise the Prometheus generates a bus error. The mediator just works with the M1.
This is with the Voodoo. On the Radeon it works without bridge. No Warp3D then, though. |

Good Job, Hedeon!
This opens up some exciting possibilities, and possibilities for lots more work for the developers Are there any 'low hanging fruits' in PCIe land? |

Someone could try buying stuff from these guys. The last time I checked they had new stuff in stock.
https://www.xes-inc.com/products/ Avoid the ones with the Marvel bridge and the incompatible FPU though. |

Don't know about USB. Those are the typical 1x cards. Bigger cards most likely need more power. |

Those Permedia2 cards can they be used with some PPC stuff on the Firebird Prometheus?
They don't do DMA i believe? The S3Virge cards can only do some DMA for use with a RTL8139? Thanks, |

All supported cards can do DMA if you mean by that that they reserve gfx memory so other cards can do dma on the pci bus that don't have memory of their own. Like some network and sound cards.
Just dont follow some current guides and put 2048k there as it gobbles up too much memory. The P2 only has 4 or 8 and the s3 cards 4 i believe. P2 cards can be used with PPC cards, just not Warp3D. W3D_Picasso96 specifically looks for BVPPC or CVPPC (for starters) |

Thanks.
Yes that's what I needed to know. I have a S3ViRGE with 4Mb and a Voodoo3. I only use as much mem for DMA that's needed. I should get a P2 also. |

In other news. The Bigfoot 2100 seems to respond correctly when connected to a prometheus with Xilinx chips.
There are efforts ongoing to update the firmware for the Altera variant (= almost all of them) |
