Hello, welcome! Yes, this is the final of our current Knockout competition which started at the end of November. To take part in this particular tournament, you have to enter the qualifying stage first.

However, next week, our regular League season starts for 2016 - from next Sunday to be precise. This is open for anyone to play whenever they want, however often they want. Each round will last for three weeks and a few rounds will be 'double' rounds (i.e. we play two games instead of one). The season runs until the end of November, so plenty of opportunites to get involved! Feel free to come and join us - the start of a new season is a perfect time to start.

But it's still enough to put you ahead on the final day of the competition

Need to try and get myself third place...

I may not have posted much in the thread but I've put a load of work into this game this week. I spent the first four days or so trying to learn it and the last couple trying to string runs together and think about where best to use up lives.

I agree with jPV on the Lemon thread, there is so much about this game to remember, just today I've accidently locked myself into an area that I couldn't get out of with those falling rocks blocking my path, and twice accidently activated warps that skipped me over high scoring levels(!), in addition to the usual act of losing lives at points I've never lost lives at before!

I was never a huge fan of those shoot'em-ups that remove the weapon you've built up over the course of many levels as soon as you die and this game is a lot like that, if you die at any point towards the end then you lose your weapons and crucially your fire-proof power. So my tactic was simply to not die and get as far as I could.

I didn't quite manage it, but I did manage one run where I only died once which was enough to get me to my life-milking point. I hope this is enough.

And it's all over for another year...

The Knockout champion for a second time is... capehorn! Both players posted high-quality scores but in the end capehorn edged out jPV and takes the title. Congratulations!

jPV still finishes second overall which is a fine achievement. Well done to Joni for securing a bronze medal on his competition debut, highly respectable. His score was too much for me in the end, although I did edge up to 17k in the final few hours. Nevertheless I'm happy to finish fourth.

So that's all done and dusted. Now it's time for a brand new League season.

Thank you!

I don't fancy my chances of winning the league though
