I think I'll have a crack at this. Excuse me for being thick but how are the scores calculated?

Just need to get some beers in first lol

Time converted to decimal.
1 min 16.555 seconds = 76.555 then multiply by 1000 = 76555

Seriously quick time round Phoenix, dude! The best I've managed so far is a 1:19.750

I think there's some time to be found in my set up. You using maximum down force, front and rear?

Don't put too much effort on the setups. I did all my times (as Akabei on Lemonamiga) with the standard setups. Learn which corners can be driven in fourth than in third, or third than in second gear to gain seconds. A perfect setup will give you just a few more tenth or hundredth of a second. As in every good racing game, knowing the courses is the key.

Just been doing some laps of Interlagos. Managed a 1:13.678 so still a bit of time to find there, too. Is there a table of all the best times somewhere?

Edit: Just found it.

Zoltar, yes mate the only difference in setup I used was slightly less front/rear wing. Although I'm not sure if it helped me or not.. chances are I just had a really good run. Maybe if I put the setup back to default it might improve the time lol!

I think most important is to keep perfect line, avoid braking early etc. Turns 6 & 7 can really be taken at full speed, makes a big difference in time!

I tried a few laps with the default setup then tried chipping away at the gearing and wing settings a little bit at a time. Eventually managed a 1:17.492

Cracking the sub 1:17 barrier is going to take a bit more practice and further fine tuning. Those last few tenths... always the hardest to get!!

Hi,

hopefully this post is just as a precaution, but I had trouble booting my laptop today. Switching to 'the last known good configuration' got it working, but if I dissappear from the competition (yes, I know I haven't posted any times yet...) that will be the reason why.

Well, the issue seems to be with the ethernet controller, audio controller and one other item that I can't remember. Trying to reinstall the audio drivers crashes windows!
Atleast I can get it to boot, so thanks to eBay a replacement Dell Lattitude C610 should be on it's way to me in the next week. I'll use this oppotunity to upgrade the harddrive from the current 20GB (which only has 900MB free!) up to a 100GB drive

Back to the competition, I'll have a few goes today and see if I can get some times on the board, then I'll work on improving them
