@Steve
Clearly Fantastic Stuff!!! from an unwated A4000 to a Super Class Z3 machine thwacking out doom and quake!!! I think that A4000 found the best home it could my friend! How are you finding quake on the A4000 - are you using the native AGA or do you have a gfx card version? I am looking forward to seeing if my 060 can make a go of the Warp3D version on my CV64 3D/Mk2 (oh if only I had some time... and it wasn't so damn hot!) Good luck with this project and please keep them pictures comming =D |

Hi mate!, Having trouble actually playing quake The demo works ok and pretty smooth but when I try to start a game I get a looping error, I think I'm missing some files, I only have the PAK files from my origianal CD (grabbed quickly them off my PSP from PSP Quake as I can't find the damn CD anywhere!) Any chance you can zip up your quake folder (without the PAK files for copyright reasons) and Zone it for me Zetr0? I knows yours works lol... Just playing in AGA as theres no GFX card in the A4000 yet, its a shame I couldn't get that Apollo 060'd then I could be playing on the A1200T via the Voodoo... Anyway, loving the A4k Steve. PS. I'm using this port of Quake, is that the same one you use Zetr0? http://planetquake.gamespy.com/View.....Detail&id=326 Last edited by fitzsteve; 11 July 2010 at 00:58. |

For a speed boost my friend - use an NTSC screen mode, this should improve the CHIP bandwidth speed by about 20%

Hmm, not sure whats wrong with the clickboom Quake, I'll try some more later...
Anyway I got the other version working, as susspected I must have had some missing files, I aquired the original CD version of quake and copied all the files and now the game runs, and I was surprised to see its actually playable on the 040! I made a short low quality video, take a look [ Show youtube player ] |

Pretty sure everything there is on the CF I setup for you Enjoy! Steve. PS. You'll need a network card though and will need to install Miami and IBrowse which are included on the CF. Oh also I introduced a neater CF-IDE option so there are less cables around the Apollo Last edited by fitzsteve; 11 July 2010 at 18:54. |

New TeeVee!
I picked up my LCD TV today
However its not 100% Amiga friendly, was disapointed to find the TV will not work properly with the Miggy's via RGB Scart, it only displays a flickery black and white picture in all modes, I also tried another scart and then moved onto Composite which had colour but such an awful picture I was about to So I thought I'd try the VGA input via an RGB/VGA connector (not expecting anything) and was astonished to find that the VGA input will accept the native amiga screens Its a crystal clear picture, amazing in full screen & AGA modes but there is flicker in the Interlaced modes which is a bummer since I'm using Classic Workbench ADV SP. (Soon to change to CWB OS3.9) So I guess I have to get a flicker fixer or RTG for the workbench screens, I did see nice Picollo RTG card at Amibay but changed my mind due to the seller wanting a bank transfer, didn't want to send my cash to a zero feedback seller with no paypal protection. For now I can use it as it is, just at High Res without Interlacing, I was going to go the Indi or RTG route at some point anyway... Oh, almost forgot - some pics Hope you enjoy the pics, can't wait till I sort out the higher res modes Steve. Last edited by fitzsteve; 14 July 2010 at 20:03. |

Thanks Jimbo =)
I also tried my Dreamcast and this also comes through as 'Black and White' through the Scart, do ya'll think that its just becuase they are old machines not compatible or a problem with the Scart on this TV? My PS3 is stunning via the HDMI at 1080p(Maybe 1080i) though! Steve. Edit, don't think there is anything other then a compatibility problem, my freesat box works fine on the scart. it only has one scart socket by the way so its not as if only one is RGB.
