Any 'SPS-required' titles within these pics?

Hi everyone

Over the last few months I've been busy selling lots of old games (including Amiga titles) on behalf of a former software distributor in the UK. Whilst doing so, I've kept one eye on the SPS Wants List, and so far, I've identified the following titles which appear to be required by the SPS Team (ignore Journey to the Centre of the Earth, as it's actually the French version that SPS require):

I believe that all of the games are new/unused, so they should be perfect for dumping i.e. no saved high-score tables or any rubbish like that! .

Now, I've only had time to check titles that have been explicitly listed on the SPS homepage; I haven't gone any further than this.

So if anybody reading can spot any other SPS-requried titles from these pictures, please let me know ASAP.

(I couldn't see Robin Smith Cricket and The Executioner in the SPS database?!?)

Lastly, included below are some older photos, and though most of these games have since sold, there are additional copies of some titles. So again, if anybody reading can recognise anything that needs the IPF treatment, feel free to LMK.

Thanks
Dave.

@IFW

Wow, that many?!?

Ok, since I made my original post, the guy who I was hoping to loan any discs required by SPS to (for dumping) has actually resigned from the SPS group.

Now I'm not an Amiga owner/user myself, so unless another member of the team can come and collect the discs from me in Berkshire PRONTO (I'm not prepared to post them) AND promise to get them back to me within a week, I'm afraid I'll have to ship many of the games, as they've already been purchased.

Sorry about this - but if these games had been featured on the SPS Wants List, I wouldn't have advertised them yet.

N.B. re: the games shown in SPS1, SPS 2: I can keep hold of these for a little while longer, if you think you can arrange for somebody to collect, dump and return them to me.

Hi Dave,

Denis will dump anything needed.
Are there any titles I listed that Denis hasn't taken yet?

Thanks

Denis, can you answer IFW's? question?

I'd need to check my records, but I'm off out now ...

(I think there are quite a lot that Denis hasn't taken, but some of them are going to a friend of his, who I understand is willing to loan discs for dumping purposes)

A few of the other discs do need to be sent off pretty quickly though (or I risk negative feedback!) so is there definitely no-one in the South East/London area who is willing to borrow these discs and dump them?

@ Denis

I wasn't in any way suggesting that you should buy them all!

As I said above, I'm willing to LOAN (i.e. not sell!) any discs that require dumping to a 'recognised' SPS-contributor IF they can collect the discs in person AND get them back to me promptly.

Hey, if you're not working at the moment, maybe you have the time to fly over to the UK with your Amiga and dump all of these discs yourself!

(I understand there is an "SPS Fund", so maybe you could charge your plane ticket to that ... heheh! )

@ IFW

Judging by the amount of SPS-required titles you identified in those eight pictures alone, I reckon there could easily be *100* discs you'd want dumping by the time I've sorted through the rest of the Amiga games.

For example, I've since tried entering some of the more obscure-looking titles into the SPS Search, and several of them return a blank. There are even some that don't feature in HOL and/or MobyGames!

But I cannot stress the urgency in which somebody from (or representing) SPS needs to take some action!!!

P.S. You're the guy who wrote the dumping tool, right? Now I realise this is probably none of my business, but can you not just, erm, try and sort out the problem with the [former] member who I was (up until recently) in contact with? Originally, he did seem willing to assist with the dumping in principal, though apparently, it depended on an "easily resolvable" issue being resolved?!?

Because it would be a real shame if these discs ended up being posted around the globe, filled with save games etc without being correctly preserved beforehand.

And I doubt there will be (m)any more instances of such huge quantities of UNUSED Amiga games being discovered in the future?!

I only saw your response after I'd posted (I actually started typing before 1:23 heheh) ... perhaps we can have a chat about this on the phone some time?!?

Should I PM you my phone no?

I'm also a member of SPS, and I would love to pick these games up/drop them back, but the timing is terrible. My son was born two days ago, and there is absolutely no chance I can drive up to London right now. Is there nobody else here who can dump them? If not, it looks like we are stuck

Richard's okay. He is just frustrated things aren't moving on as fast as he would like. Real-world problems just have most of us struggling for spare time atm, including Richard actually - he's moving house last time I heard.

Ok, here's a summary of the status of the games listed by IFW. It might not be 100% accurate, but it should be pretty close ...

Not sold/still Available:
[All of those pictured in SPS1, SPS2]
Pro Sport Challenge
Robin Smith's International Cricket
Mega Pack
Judge Dredd
Wrangler
Cricket

Sold but additional copy available:
Trained Assassin
Necronom
Intact
Mugician
Metal Mutant

Sold to Denis:
Mr. Heli
Ziriax*
The Champ*
Chariots of Wrath

* = additional copy available

Sold to an associate of Denis (in France) who will loan discs for dumping:
Beam*
Big Business*
Bubble+*
Aunt Arctic Adventure**
Feudal Lords*
Emperor of the Mines
Astate [this was sealed, so the owner may not want to break the seal]
Formula1 [again, sealed - so the owner may not wish to open it]

* = additional copy available
** = POSSIBLY an additional copy is available

Last copy sold but not shipped (i.e. get your skates on if you want them dumping!!):
The Executioner
Mean Streets (2 copies yet to ship)
Great Britain Scenery (SubLogic) [not pictured]

Last copy sold, shipped:
Chubby Gristle <-- This has only recently arrived with the buyer in Australia, so I will ask him to avoid playing this one for now (that's if it's not too late). He also has a non-sealed copy of the Forumla 1 game by Simulmondo, so again, I might politely ask if he can resist the temptation to play this one too!

P.S. Fiath: congrats!
