Rarity

I apologise myself if it was answered already, but what the criteria of "rarity" in HOL is based upon? eBay prices / rarity or what? It is not explained in HOL FAQ.

If CodyJ doenst have it, then it is extremely rare. If he only has one copy of it, then it is just rare.

If he's started using his excess copies as blank disks (eg. F/A-18 Interceptor) then it's common as mud.

It's a fairly informal value based on experience. See the following thread for some discussion on the subject: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=12322

It would be difficult to make the field more objective but I think that it does a good job as a guide.

Well, I asked Cody about it yesterday and he told me that it might not be actually that precise So it's based on the knowledge of those who add the rating (I won't touch it unless I'm told to do it ).

Heh, beaten by Cody

Anyway, I gave away all my boxed originals and have only retained a few of nostalgic value - Wings, Civilization, Paradroid '90 and the Lost Treasures of Infocom, for example.
