click page 2, stay on page 1?

Perhaps a small bug in the forum software. If I click on page 2 of the "if you would buy a new computer" thread, I stay on page 1.

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=47946&page=2

I'm guessing it is a fault in the logic that determines how many pages there should be that happens in rare cases where a thread contains a specific amount of posts.

Strange, I don't get a page 2

I do in the search list, my guess is that it's up to it's maximum 40 posts per page, it's just ready to go to page 2 even though there is not one. Bug

I am waiting for post 41, there are only 40 posts atm, so there'll only be 1 page.

I could imagine the reason:

That thread is about PC and not Amiga, so it's easy there can be a problem!

This always happens when a moderator deletes the only post on the second page. There was a second page but now there no longer is one. As soon as somebody adds a reply, the second page will reappear.

I know why it's happening and I can't tell you It's not a bug causing the problem.

Personally I think it's a good idea to keep it here so if anybody else wonders why this happens they've got the answer

Let's not - I don't want people posting garbage just to get this thread to page 2.

Anyway it doesn't matter, I know why this happens, it's not totally random. If it occurs don't worry about it.

I have PM'd RCK about it, so rest assured it will be solved in due time . I call it "indexing" errors, as it seems to me database index's ought to be getting slightly mixed-up. Nice you took the burden to create a thread about it Gimby.

no dude, it wasn't an indexing problem. It was because your posts were invisible, it was causing the page counting to go a little loopy.

I hope I'm not the one breaking this news to you.
