Problems with Mega Drive 6-button USB Gamepad

Hi.

Last week I purchased two new gamepads, as I had tried them and I very much liked the feel. These are Retrobit official Mega Drive USB accessories and are designed for Mega Drive Mini, PC, Mac, virtually anything with USB. Link: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B07S43KJL7/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The problem is, 1) FS-UAE launcher does not recognize either of these gamepads, and worse yet 2) FS-UAE emulator crashes on startup whenever either of these gamepads is connected to a USB port. According to /var/log/system.log it is a SEGFAULT. I haven't seen that behaviour with any other controller. Also these work fine on VICE, and they are correctly shown in System Report under USB devices.

I'm running FS-UAE Launcher 3.0.5 on an early 2011 MacBook Pro with macOS High Sierra 10.13.6. That's my retro gaming machine, and unfortunately it cannot be further updated into Mojave or Catalina. Can you give me any advice?

I tried my best to search previous threads and I'm sorry if I posted something that has already been discussed elsewhere.

Br, Tuksu
