EAB/Lemon Super League 2008: Round 4 - SWIV

EAB/Lemon Super League 2008: Round 4 - SWIV

Rules:
- The round starts now (Sunday, March 23) and will end at 11:59pm UK time on Saturday, April 12.
- Score as many points as possible.
- Post screenshots of your score in this thread, and write your score underneath. You can enter as many times as you like within the round's time frame.
- No cheating of any kind (including score leeching) - this includes save states. If you suspect a contestant of cheating then don't post it in public (anyone who does so will have their posts edited or deleted) - please PM either me or Biscuit and we will investigate it. If we find anyone guilty of cheating then they will be banned for the entire season.
- Please only post your score on either the EAB or Lemon forums. If you have already played this year you have to post your score on the same forum for the whole season. If you are new, the one you post on first will be your "team" for the whole season. However you are welcome to discuss the compo, game etc. on the other forum if you wish.
- You must play as the helicopter in one-player mode only. No continues allowed.
- This is the final round of the first leg.

814k? Oh God... (No idea about the star either, I was wondering that)

I could only muster this "effort"...

haha. I swear i've never played this before. That 800k run was my 2nd game. I love shootem ups. I am in the top 10 in just about every shooter on the xbox and in the top 20 for gradius v.

The money just gives you 5k to your score. Also, the star i believe is given for every 100k you dont die. if you die the star corresponds to your spread of each weapon upgrade.
I use the V to get up to a 5-spread. Then i take the 4 up arrows for increased fire power and speed to my 5 spread.

Also, i guess depending on how long you push the upgrades up before grabbing one, you should see a star, which givse you a 8-way shot, but i dont like it much.

I don't know man. you might be good at shootem-ups but it takes a little while to learn the attack patterns and the enemies, and its not just about being good... but maybe you are the nostradamus of shootem-ups as in you can see what is going to happen even before it does..

I would like to see him playing it for the first time. It is hard for me to believe it. If you are pro then it is quite understandable but if you are rookie it seems strange.

My new score:

323,520

My way to obtain good weapon is:
- destroy the first token ship as fast as you can (shoot it before it finishes building itself),
- flip the tokens until you get V (more spreaded fire) and 4 cross fire (faster fire ratio),
- from the next token ships obtain the same tokens.

Does anyone know why sometimes token ship leaves two and the other time three tokens?

I dont know what to tell some of you. i feel once you've seen a good shmup (gradius, strikers 1945, gigawing) attack patterns are pretty much assumed. My first game i got 364,000. I was feeling it out. The second game i got the 814. I played two more games and got the 1.5. Next game i got 1.7 and the following 2.1. If you want me to put a video of it up, i can. To be honest, i didnt think the game was that difficult. The only time i felt it was difficult is when i have a hard time seeing things or become too aggressive.

The reason the goose ship leaves 3 is when you defeat it before it connects itself.

Also, the money token is invulnerability. You can push the tokens up, saving them for the hard spots. I didnt use that strategy, but its there for the taking.
