Linux localnet ftp server
Okays... I'm running Ubuntu on the PC (thank goodness for freedom from Redmond :P ) And would like to set up a private, local ftp server for sopying to and from the Amiga.
Got Easynet working somewhat on a clean WB3.1, and got AmFTP installed and ready for action. Problem is, I can't figure out how to configure the FTP-server side on the Linuxbox... I've tried ProFTPD but no matter what I do, it refuses the Amiga connection. Any other FTPservers I should/could try? I loved the BulletProofFTPserver on the Redmond-box, but it's not for Linux... but something similar in ease of use and setup, maybe? Thanks, Doc |

I'd recommend vsftpd. Quite easy to setup and flexible.

Damn, that's what I call bad luck. I've not had any issues when installing vsftpd. After all being on a debian based system I only had to apt-get it. I think I directly had a new folder in /home/ftp where anonymous acounts were allowed with read access. Very handy as I didn't have to touch any config files for what I wanted to do. On the other hand it's been a while and I might have to check again...
Hope you soon get a replacement psu. |

Will be installing clean when I get the new psu. A friend of mine gave me an intel motherboard some time back, only reason I've noy been able to use it has been too weak psu. But that should soon change.
And hopefully Amiga will be happy too |
