Financial Time Machine

Uploaded The Financial Time Machine to the Zone, original dump using Kryoflux -> adf (AmigaDOS).
For those interested, scans will soon appear in HOL.

I've found no references or links to this game.

Was it commercial game?
You have real Original(Box, Disk)?
Who was the publisher?

Scans are already available on OAGD.net (http://oagd.net/amiga/the-financial-time-machine) and I'll create the HOL entry on Tuesday.

thanks! unfortunately, since it's only available as windows binary, i had to compile wine in a 32bit chroot to use it... but it worked out in the end.

the sourcecode of the game is unfortunately incomplete (there are like 10 missing functions).
i spent a bit hacking around and it works now with an SDL backend instead of intuition and implemented a good bit of the missing functionality, so it's working now on my linux desktop

crashdisk, do you see a way of restoring the non-existing lesssee6.c file ? maybe it's missing due to a bug of DMS-Workshop ? or maybe the contents are still in stored in some sectors ?

alternatively a dissasembly dump of lesssee6.o with string/function call refs resolved would be helpful as well.
however i have zero experience with amiga development and debugging tools :/

due to lack of a manual, i'm currently struggling to figure out the exact semantics of the "EXERCISE" command - apparently it is to be used with another command, like EXERCISE FOO.
the function that checks the user input is validity_check() from that obj file.

Unfortunately, I doubt that you can recover that file with this disk (better luck with a copy of the original?). Maybe you can try with DiskSalv but I think nothing will change...

EDIT:
I found a piece of what could be the missing code
I do not know if it will come in handy ...

thanks! (i just saw your edit a few hours ago)
i made the reconstructed code available here

https://github.com/rofl0r/financial-time-machine

requires a C compiler and SDL library.

most stuff works, however i didn't find out yet how to use the "exercise" command.

there are also a few small differences: for example i renamed the
"T-Bills" command to "bonds" and "keep" to "save".
also my version doesnt support short versions of commands yet (the commands have to typed in full length).
(to continue at the end of quarter, use the jump command or F10)
