How to prevent 100% CPU usage ?

Hi ! Using FS-UAE under KDE Neon, i3 class CPU, nvidia gtx, xbr pixel shader.

I'm really sorry if this question was already asked !

I noticed that when running FS-UAE (A1200 configuration, 030 CPU, JIT enabled or disabled), one of my CPU cores is always at 100%. As I have a cheap CPU fan, it makes A LOT of noise while it's almost silent when not at 100% (doesn't happen for instance, in Dolphin or Retroarch emulators).

How can I limit the speed of my A1200 configuration ? Really, I'd be happy with the equivalent of a Blizzard 1230-IV, but even when selecting this in the FS-UAE GUI, the emulated machine is obviously way faster

Thanks for your help !! :-)
Thanks a lot to the devs !

Hi,
you can write one of the following lines to your configuration file (or something similar):

uae_cpu_throttle = -800.0
limit to 20%
uae_cpu_throttle = -600.0
limit to 40%
uae_cpu_throttle = -400.0
limit to 60%
...
you'll get the idea...

To match the speed of your Blizzard, do some benchmarking and change the values. I don't really know how close you can get to real hardware, especially if jit is enabled. I guess speed is slightly different for different applications.

Oh my, I could have RTFM :-)

Thank you very much ! As long as I can keep my CPU from overheating it'll be perfect, thanks !!

Hmm, doesn't seem to be applied though. Still one core at 100%. Gonna check. Might be related to multiple cores !

Edit : could be related to
"In cycle-exact-mode, this option cannot be used and is locked to 0.0." although I don't know where cycle exact mode is specified. I though 68030 was always "fastest possible". Maybe I should create a new WB HD not requiring a 030
