Help with sound

I recently got UAE and set it up to play a classic game i haven't seen for ages(Escape from colditz). When it starts up the music is really bad but when the game isn't loading or anything the music is fine. Another example is Cannon Fodder, I downloaded this to see if it still happened and on the intro( With the funky song) it was really awful but when the pictures weren't changing or anything the music was fine. When actually playing the game the sound is really bad and the gameplay is really slow.
Have I not configured the specs right? I'm not very good with technical things like this so any help is very grateful.

Try to set the Sound Buffer Size to 4 or 5, solved the problem for me

Get a REALLY top notch soundcard, like soundblaster live.

All soundcards really take a beating, when using emu's, especially Winuae and MAME.

Knowing which version of WinUAE you are using speaks volumes in determining what sound issues you might be encountering. In addition to some info on your PC setup.

Unhappy

I don't know much about computers but I know my pc is a pretty old 300mhz compact presario. I set up the UAE ( 0.8.17 release 2)to an Amiga 500. Hope that helps.

i recommend using WinUAE 08.08.R8, okay so it doesn't have some of the advanced of the latest version, but its pretty rock solid.

i don't see the link with emulation and sound card, i think all emulation is dumped on the main cpu, i have a very expensive sound card, 256mb ram, geforce 2, but a low processor on my second machine and the latest WinUAE's sound performance is bad, maybe a WinUAE developer can clear this up for us?

I can upload WinUAE 08.08.R8 to the zone if you need.

The zone has a download link to WinUAE 08.08.R9 in the top right-hand corner.
