Amiga Game Packs

I know Amiga Packs have sort of been discussed before on this forum
but I thought I'd start a new post off with a twist.

Below are the Amiga computer packs I used to own.....

Amiga 500+ 'Cartoon Classics' Pack

Captain Planet, Lemmings, The Simpsons - Bart Vs The Space

Mutants and Deluxe Paint III.

Amiga 600 - The Wild! The Weird! The Wicked Pack

Microprose Grand Prix, Pushover, Putty and Deluxe Paint III.

Amiga 1200 - Desktop Dynamite Pack

Dennis, Oscar, Digita Wordsworth and Deluxe Paint IV (AGA)

Over time I managed to collect two other Amiga 1200 game packs....

Amiga 1200 - Race 'N' Case Pack

Nigel Mansell World Champion & Trolls

Amiga 1200 - Amiga Magic Pack

Pinball Mania, Whizz, Personal Paint 6.4 & Digita Wordsworth

The question/s, well two actually are....

1 - Which packs did you have, if any?

2 - Which Game/s did you play over and over again?

Although I loved ALL my Amiga's, my personal favourite pack was Amiga 500+ 'Cartoon Classics' Pack that had, in my opinion, the best selection in it.

I would quickly play Captain Planet & The Simpsons - Bart Vs The Space Mutants and maybe even have a quick go on Deluxe Paint III. BUT it was Lemmings which had me coming back time and time again. I was hooked day and night and I even used to dream about how to get over some of the later levels.

Graphically now, yes its a bit blocky, mostly due to our HD Screens but its an awesome looking game with great catchy music and even better gameplay made simply amazing by the "Let's Go!" words at the begining of every level! You actually had feelings for these little guys and had to get them home safely.

Anyway, that's my first 'OWN' post of, hopefully many to come!

Catch ya all later

I should add that I wasn't lucky enough to get one of those listed packs.

The A500 (plus 512KB expansion) that we had was second hand and came from my step-father's friend.

I bought a used 'Amiga Magic Pack' a few years back, sadly most of the software was missing.
That's why the only prg i've ever used of those is Pinball Mania. It may not be as good as Fantasies or Slam Tilt, but i still play a round or two every now and then.

Another thread with a few more options but from years back: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=21538

I had;
Amiga 500 Screengems
Amiga 1200 Computer Combat
Amiga 1200 Amiga Magic

I only have fond memories of the Screengems pack - the other two were ok i guess.
Would've loved a A500 Batman pack (which is what I was after originally until the Screengems pack replaced it).

Games I played from all these, just Shadow of the Beast II mainly from the 500. I already had quite a few games from my 500 days when I got the 1200 so played those. Brian the Lion was ok I suppose but didn't have lasting appeal.

The OP showed us the packs THEY owned.

Then asked the question "what did you own?" (paraphrasing).

The confusion has come in from the inclusion of a poll i think.

It's all good.

I had a A600 with no bundled goodies () and later the Amiga Magic pack.

I'm most nostalgic for the Cartoon Classics one, though, which my aunt had. My first taste of the Amiga, a 500+, was during a Christmas visit when I got to play Lemmings. We later "looked after" the Amiga for a couple of weeks while she went on holiday. Pinball Fantasies was responsible for me harassing my parents to get a 600 for the rest of the year.

David Pleasance did a great job on those packs. I think most if not all of them originated from Commodore UK?

Well I can add them... but probably better to just use the other thread for voting as it contains more packs: Which Amiga pack did you get?

Edit: I've added in the option "Other Pack"...

The exact same story for me, for about a month I didn't even have any games with it, the only software that came with it was workbench 1.2 and the Graphics Studio.

So yeah, lots of drawing, lot's of fun making the Amiga say all kinds of crazy things in high pitched voices

And then I got my first game pack - the Master Mix collection. My first exposure to proper Amiga games were pretty shitty conversion games (with the exception of Dynamite Dux) and boy did I love them

Except Thunder Blade, screw that game.

Nice, that would be a cool collection to start with

Wonderboy In Monsterland is a decent port

...and Turbo Out Run provided some fun.

Only pack that I did have, was Amiga 500 Plus pack in Germany. It had Fighter Bomber, Marble Madness, shanghai, Deluxe Paint III. Sadly, had to sell that one before moving to USA at the end of 1995.

I can't remember if there was a name for that pack.

We could always merge, keep the original poll options and add the new poll options if missing. Anyone who voted will have to re-vote!
