Repulse Sound Card
Hi,
My Repulse Sound Card has arrived. It looks fantastic. I went to http://repulse.amigaworld.de/index.php?lang=en&page=4 to download the CD, which mentions read errors on the old CD. It turns out there are read errors on the CD image supplied, too. Does anyone have any repulse installation files they could upload to the zone? The SFX files are there, but nothing else. |

I've managed to get a bit further.
The install files on the CD need to be copied to a hard disk. Then I unarchived the updated usr lha archive over the installer files. Finally I made sure none of the files were write-protected, as there's a report that some are on the CD. Then I can drop into the shell and run the installer via the command line through c:installer. The installer can then run. However, still no AHI intergration. I've added the repulseinit command to s:startup-sequence, and both the libraries and audiomodes are there. For some reason, it's not showing in AHI prefs. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might try next? |

Well, for my long-overdue first post, and I that I have a working repulse, it seemed right to chip in...
Firstly, the board definitely shows under expansion board diagnostics? (Manufacturer 16708) I still have all the original software that came with my board, however it's no different to what you can download on the Repulse website. To confirm, you have: DEVS:AHI/repulse.audio, DEVS:Audiomodes/REPULSE, LIBS:repulse.library installed. If so, is your AHI working? Under AHI prefs you have Paula showing as a unit? Whilst I too have the repulseinit command in startup-sequence, it's not required to show up under AHI. When you run SYS:Prefs/Repulse does the device show up under the Settings tab? Give me a shout if you need anymore help |

Thankyou so much for responding!
I think the ISO download from the amigaworld.de site is corrupt, so if there's any way you could upload what you have somewhere I think there'll be differences. I have all of those files in all of those places, and the repulse shows up in the repulse prefs but not in AHI. Running repulseinit makes no difference. Anything you could suggest at this point would be gratefully received. I'll post pics shortly once I get them off the Amiga. |

No problem, give me a moment to rip the CD, then I'll upload the iso for you.
The CD says that it's version number is 1.1b. The version of SoundFX included on the CD for us Repulse owners installs and works perfectly fine. Fingers crossed! |

Here are the repulse settings, showing the device being detected.
Here you can see the libs and prefs files: The various devs entries: Here AHI is running, but there's no sign of the repulse card. And here's the output from WhichAmiga, which shows some config settings. I've tried switching to MMULib from Speedgeek's 060 tools, to no joy. It looks like repulse.library is loaded according to scout, just that AHI isn't picking it up. |

How strange, everything (Repulse-wise) looks fine.
Here's my settings: Your Repulse has a more up to date firmware than mine. I've just noticed that I'm running v.4.0 for repulse.library (I obviously haven't updated it since I reinstalled with Workbench 3.1.4). Whilst you could try with a different (lower) version number for repulse.library, I don't think that would make any difference, as the higher version numbers have been fine for me. I am running the latest AHI version (v.6.6) - but again, it worked fine with v.4.1.8. |

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1fm...fayjsmoAhR-qI7 It's a 43MB zipped ISO. Worked fine on my system when I re-installed a couple of months ago. Hope it does the job for you |

I got it working! Kinda!
Still going to test it but it now shows up in AHI. It turns out that AHI 4.18 as configured with ClassicWB doesn't seem to want to play, so all I did was follow these simple steps :
Thanks Limoncello for the help. I'm in contact with Amigaworld.de, so I'll get the ISO to them so they can host it unless you'd prefer me not to. Cheers once again, Steve P.S - If you have any tips, recommendations for the repulse, please let me know. I'm going to have a go at TheMaestrix this weekend to get SoundStudio working through it. |

Great that you got it working!

Blank parts, as in stuttered audio? I use the latest version (v3.23) of AmigaAMP. I have quality set to medium, with no divide frequency and 44100 as the max frequency, with AHI unit set as 0. Plays mp3 fine here - we both have similar specs (yours A4000/060/50MHz, and mine A1200T/060/50MHz) |

Limoncello: I got it working in the end - not sure what was the problem, but seem to have solved it now.
Mark: I got mine from Amibay. I think you just have to keep an eye out tbh. |

TheMaestrix is a tool people were using to get SoundStudio working on modern 4.1 Amigas, but I completely overlooked Toccata support. Just tried it and it works fine, this is incredible!
