I have no opinion on whether we need autofire for Deluxe Galaga, last time we played it, it was fine.

What I do care about is if Xenon II ever comes up for a vote again. Revisiting the 2011 thread, it's mostly three pages of people complaining that autofire isn't allowed. Michael, Lifeschool and John4p all agreed, and Graham said that he would give it some thought, so I was surprised to read that the rule wasn't changed off the back of that thread, my recollection was that it had been.

I'm happy to vote for Xenon II again (although I might be the only one), but only on the basis that if the majority also vote for autofire to be allowed, then that majority would get their way. I've got nothing against the no-autofire rule in general, I just think that it should be be overridden if people vote for it to be so.

Yeah Xenon 2 is definitely a special case. Since so many participants - incl. myself - agreed it's just no fun to play without rapid fire we could make an exception just for this game (provided lifeschool goes along).

But in general the rule "if game has autofire powerup then no mechanical autofire allowed" will stay (but after the season we can have a vote to maybe change it).
