Well, then: great...
(I don't have a stake in this other than the more people can play this, the better... ) |

I tried to put a boot block that disabled external drives and game still won't load on my A1000. I will try to disconnect the drive to see if that helps.
Is there an ADF update yet for the GET READY glitch? |

Great game progress so far.
The difficulty level, pace and the number of sprites on screen has definitely improved. Maybe the final version can include a difficulty level in a menu on the front-screen. Also maybe a music and sound fx menu too. Something like on Apidya. I also noticed that the in-game music track on level 1 has a slight timing error on the strings on block 3 at the start (Channel 1). It is delayed slightly. If you want to keep the delay maybe put it on the previous line and add a note delay (EDx) command. Maybe by 1 or 2 (ED1, or ED2). Or keep it the same as the next bar which has the correct timing. Unless it is intentional for artistic effect. I was thinking of mentioning the above timing error/issue quite a while back. Thought I would let you know just in-case. Keep up the great work |

And today, I have to remind myself again to not take comments on Youtube that serious anymore...
Damn, some people are harsh.. |

Lol...the only way I view anything on youtube these days is with all the crap, like comments, exorcised. The "block element" function of Ublock Origin is a godsend

You simply cannot create something that everybody likes.
Fortunately, these days I get so much positive feedback as well. I remember with some the comments I got for my little Christmas game in 2017, I really felt like giving up afterwards. |

There's a difference between fair criticism, however harsh it may be, and spewing bile just for the sake of being a malicious bully. I think utube is famous for having a lot of the latter-style commenters Then you got the clueless "why it's not like Batsugun!!1!" crowd too...
I can be quite a critical person myself, but just really can't find anything serious to fault with your game, given the circumstances (tiny dev team, limited hardware). In fact, considering these factors it's actually very impressive. And I play a lot of shoot'em ups, from 8-to-64 bit ones, so I do have some perspective, I think. |

They have a very preconceived notion of what a game has to look or sound like, since they compare it with something they played a lot when they were teens I guess. Most of negative comments boil down to this, imo. |

I actually think that is mostly justified, even though it tends to not actually make things better. Harshly worded criticism, despite what it's proponents would argue, is almost always not primarily meant as useful feedback. Rather, it's meant to incite an emotional response first and perhaps a reaction to the feedback second.

I see you disabled comments on the YouTube video; wise move its troll-ville. For the record I am really looking forward to this game. Its an impressive achievement for one person. Most importantly it has that 80's Amiga vibe pulsating through its DNA and I am very pleased to see an amiga game of this calibre in 2020. Please make more games.

that video where comments are disabled is from Per-Ola, and comments were always disabled, I think? The video I was referring to about the comments was this one: [ Show youtube player ] Quote:
I feel a bit down these days, so some encouragement is appreciated... I worked so much on this game, but I still feel there would be so many things I'd like to get into this, it's just that I start feeling a bit burned out by the whole experience, and I really need to finish this soon. |

Your game is great and you should definitely try not to take criticism to heart, particularly when it comes from people that you'd never go to for advice. Keep up the amazing work

Mike your game is AWESOME. And I really mean it. I wouldn't keep playing it if I didn't mean it. Don't let any punks get you down. Dude, I get thumbs down on YouTube before it is even possible for someone to have watched the video through. I am still blown away that you did the coding AND the music AND the graphics. Damn dude that is some serious talent. I was even telling Slamy on the stream yesterday how talented you are. Actually, I am going to go play Inviyya now...later!

Inviyya is very good. The GFX is stunning! What you did using feedback to make the game play better was smart too. It is still good like you say to just finish it. Even the best artists never get 100% satisfied with their work. Like AmigaBill say it is crazy that you have done everything yourself. Just be proud. Not many could have done anything like that!

It's all fine, guys.. thanks for the kind words.
Me feeling a bit down has nothing to do with those fuckwits on youtube. It's just that I'd love the game to be better yet, but there needs to be a point where you let the game be the way it is, or it will never be finished. And I can always create a sequel with these things that I feel missing from the first game.. |
